Just for what it's worth, I use the site devid.info for drivers. It has a driver agent as well which will scan for drivers too if needed (it's the only driver "Scanner" that works that I've found). check to make sure that your network card drivers are installed, if you are not sure, go to the manufacturuers website and find driver downloads section. they will be in there

Check that your DVD Drive is working or not by testing the XP installation Disc on other notebooks. If it doesn't work, then you may need to install XP using a USB drive. For that, use 'Win to Flash' software. usually if you make a system restore to an earlier date it will fix the issue ..and will work ..but in case it does not ..you can also try to load the application again ..or if the fault does not let you start windows at al ..just reinstall the operation system or use the recovery partition or disk to repair or completely reinstall it ..

If you have done all that then that means there is only one reason why your video is distorted. That means your video card is busted. You will need to have that replaced.
