Can't help. Unit is most likely stolen or the REAL owner frgot the code. Have a receipt? Call Kewood and ship it to them to restore functionality. ONLY the manufacturer cn reset the units. (Unless you know the guy you bought it from and HE has the code.

I cant turn my sub on
I had the same iss and what I finally figured out through the use of the book and just messing with it is- go to the menu seletion screes should be the upper right button on the screen or what would be a main menu of all the options - then scroll down to the next menu page there should be one button listed as standby- click it- then go back through your menus and adjust where needed for the sub. Then just adjust all you things to max- it worked for me. the lables for audio nad interface still had a lock on it but after hitting the standby button to can then change your settings that were previously locked up. then once done just go back to your tuner or dvd etc.. to get out of set up menu.

Ground the Green "Brake" wire to your frame. This will fool the system into thinking that your brake is engaged.

I cant unlock my kvt-617dvd
find the person who u bought the unit from either they set the code or a person did who they got it from, it should be a 4 digit numbered code, if you can't get the code u might as well use it for a paper weight. if buying a kenwood used the best thing to do is tell them you want to see it hooked up and running or I won't buy it. the very first screen that appears is the code entry if the code has been set. if the code hasn't been set, this screen should not appear. do this asure yourself, i do.

You have to take the unit and your receipt of purchase to an authorized Kenwood dealer to have them reset it for you. You will have to prove you purchased it since the whole security thing is to keep thieves from being able to use it.

Questions about my KENWOOD DDX512 RECEIVER.
the usb port it's a cable coming from the back of the unit and has to routed somewhere where you can get to it.
I know that if you install the bluetooth unit, you can connect another device to it because has a pass through connection.
if you have an earlier unit(serial#8020...) you will most likely have issues with the HD. doesn't hold the memory presets after shut down. Service dept. has to change an EROM inside the DDX.
sirius won't become xm pretty soon?
I own a DNX5120. I'm not an expert, just another owner. Our units have a new firmware 1.40, if you don't have it yet, download it from Kenwood. Bluetooth also has one.
