Hello there, If your navigation system will not boot but powers up, then there is a software problem somewhere, and the problem is that the files needed to support the booting of the device might be corrupt.
Solution is for you to go to the website and download the software and maps once again, but before you do that, try to reset the gps system by pushing the reset button or holding the power button for a while, that will reset the gps. If resetting the gps does not solve the problem, then you can go ahead and reinstall the software from the website.
That should do the job.

if any updated map software is avail it must come from the maker of the GPS, in attempt to use other Map software will look up the programming and make the GPS useless, contact the manufacturer's support web site for more information

You can order a map upgrade ($85.00) from A.B. Tech Service. It comes on a new 2GB SD Card. 1-866-626-7863.

You probably have a short in the charger. Try getting a different and trying it to make sure that it isn't defective.

If you look on their website www.dualav.com under the tab "mobile video, navigation" you will see the gps unit click on the picture of it. On the right-hand side of the screen you will see where you can download and print the manual and quick start guide.

I have some problem with my xnav gps(x436),it freezs on me always when i set it up to go some were

 They don't offer a whole lot of info. To see the manual for this go to their web page and then click on "navigation" under the "mobile video" tab. You can check for map updates under the "download" tab, but don't expect to see any.

You have to buy a memory card with maps and you cant at best buy can you?
i bought one from dual and it was for the 3550 and didn't work on my 3500P.

I had the same problem, check the fuse, also if the fuse is blown check the piece that fits into the device, you may have lost the little part that stops the fuse from blowing, it looks like a small ring on the end, stops it from shorting.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a NavAtlas 3550 cigarette lighter charger? I have tried 2 Universal adapters and none work! HELP!!
