Got digital phone service how do i change my fax

As far as your fax is concerned, nothing is different. The connectors are the same, data is just processed a bit differently. Just use as normal!

When faxing it will dial

This is a very common problem for most HP units. There are sensor pads before and after the feed rollers that sense the movement of the paper and are on lookout for tension that stays on a feed sensor. What happens over time is these feed sensors get dirty and caked with a sticky paper residue along with the rollers. All this causes the device to think it has a jamb when it doesn't feed something through smoothly enough. The device needs a good cleaning, this can be done with alcohol or a suitable cleaner along with using compressed air from a can. Good luck with it.

Replace the old ink cartridge.
Verify that the unit is on. The On button is lit when the unit is on. If the device is not on, press the button to turn on the unit. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the unit. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. When replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. When replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right. Pull the print cartridge toward you and out of its slot. If the print cartridge is being removed because it is low or out of ink, recycle the print cartridge. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging. Remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab. Removing the Tape from the catridge.

Hi there

Are you absolutely sure the printer is connected securely from both ends of the cable and turned on? If so, try turning it off and on again. Did it come online?

If not, how is the printer connected to your computer? Is it by USB cable, or via a network cable? And also let me know your operating system like XP or Vista etc.

Thanks.

Printer does not print in color

I have the 4315, so I am not sure if the answer is exactly the same. But there is a setting, for only printing in black ink and you need to disable it. Here is how to get to that setting: Go to
"File" "Print" "Properties" "color" UNCLICK "Greyscale" and unclick "Black cartridge only."

Incomplete text, every other line is messed up.

  • If the scanner glass or the white scan background (the white portion of the lid) are dirty, the scan might be different than intended. A dirty scanner glass (fingerprints or smudges) slows down performance by as much as half a minute and affects scan quality. Performance slows because the product is actually processing the smudges on the glass. Turn off the product , and then clean the glass with a soft cloth or sponge slightly moistened with a nonabrasive glass cleaner. If there are visible contaminants under the scanner glass, the product must be sent in for servicing. You cannot remove the scanner glass to clean inside.
  • Reinitialize the scanner by turning off the product and unplugging the power cord. Make sure that all original documents are removed from the product and that the scanner glass on the product is clean. When the power is reconnected and the product is turned on, the scanner recalibrates.
  • The computer video driver and video settings might change the image appearance slightly. The product scans in 24-bit color. Setting the video display settings to less than 24-bit, or 24 million colors, results in a loss of color information on the computer monitor. The video driver might change the appearance of colors when viewed on the monitor.

    Its not printing

First, disconnect and reconnect the printer cable. If no difference, try reinstalling the printer driver by deleting your printer icon, disconnecting the printer cable, reconnecting the cable and see if the printer is found. Then, install the printer driver. Good luck.
