Ur tv have problems,etheir the Tuner signal board or the LCD inverter board.After u turn on the tv,no picture turn tv off/on 3-4 times each time wait a few mins.see if the picture come on?Than it ur Tuner board have problems.If u turn on the tv and get just a flashes of a picture about 30 or 40 sec.than just disappear,than ur LCD inverter board is the problems it dead.

If all other devices work with the tv.It ur cable box,unplug it,replug it an hour later.Than wait about 10-15 mins let the software update for the cable box.This should work,not call the cable company explain it to them to send u a new box.

Please mention both indicator that becomes red and does any indicator blink when it gets red?
TV has 3 indicators, Operation, Lamp and Temp if count from top, let me know what indicator gets red and does it blink or gets solid red?

ON MY LG 62SX4D THE HDMI SOUND DOES NOT WORK. THE PICTURE IS GREAT BUT THE SOUND IS BROKEN AND DISTORTED. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM AND WHAT WOULD IT COST TO REPAIR?

No i just thought it sounded like a odd problem i've seen before . In your case I'd expect the lamp p/n 6912b22007 or possibly if not the lamp then a bad ballast p/n 6316000009b

It's probably time to buy a new lamp. They can be very expensive to buy, sometimes up to 400 or 500 dollars. If you think the lamp might be failing prematurely, contact LG's support or warranty department to see what your options are. If you must buy a new lamp, you should check into relamping the existing housing for the bulb. Some bulbs are easy to change the bulb and leave the reflector, saving you money, however, most of them are not easy to change. you'll have to check online.

Lamp would be the first thing to check but lamp failure will not cause the picture to be fussy. Lamp only affects brightness. Nor would it cause sound to go out.It could be several thing . Diagnosis by qualified serv tech will be required.

very possible unit has bad optical engine .May not be worth repairing.Optical engine is complete unit that includes lamp,LCD panels, fans,optics and other parts.They come complete and cost about 3-6 hundred dollars ..thanks

hi first of all u should check ur transistor connections.Check your Horizontal and vertical output transistors.You should also check the horizontal and vertical yoke connections as well as your low voltage regulators.... if any of these got damaged u should purchase a new one.. but try to purchase with the help of a tv service assistant...

Hi,
Problem seems either with LCD Controller Board or Main Board of TV. and one of them would be bad and causing negative image in screen.
Both boards are available in Shop Jimmy on reasonable prices. Click LCD Controller board and Main Board to see an image and price info.
Above board replacement is not so difficult and a little experience of TV repair person can do that.

Sounds like it could be a "light tunnel" ~~ can you see a full but unevenly lit image in a dark room?
If so it should be. Made of polycarb mirrors and they fall to bits.

looking at the face of the tv there is a hatch on the right side near bottom of tv 2 screws open look inside u will see a silver box undo the 2 silver like screws then pull on handle thats across the back of the lamp box u now have the lamp . make sure that u have turned the tv of 10 mins before or its to hot to touch .

Holy Smokes!! I sure hope you did not try to connect your multimeter to bulb connections . That is from 1500 to 2500 volts and will smoke your meter for sure .
It sounds likes you may have a power supply issue , but , I would put it on the bench and check for bad capacitors with an ESR meter first . Second look for bad or burnt connections along the high volt wire(note the special insulation used and the wide spacing at the termination)
Sadly some bulbs will not run long out of the box due to the occasional manufacturing problems(impurities?) most have a 90 day warranty . See if you can get the bulb into another set or a service depot might try to light it up in their sets .
Handle with care as these bulbs don't like rough stuff and
 DEFINITLY NO FINGERPRINTS or SCRATCHES even on the glass window that may be there in front of bulb proper  .
Also a possible problem may be just a fan not turning as they all
have tachometer wires to feedback the unit . Next make sure no filters are plugged as a over temperature condition may be reached , check the thermal protector for continuity(round metal peice exposed to lamp heat with two wires)
Good air flow is a must as these Ultra High Pressure bulbs generate HEAT .

This is the Power Board for it. check those 6 electrolytic Capacitors on the right for bulging or splitting. Don't buy it blindly, it's a guess.
