Well depending on the format when you burnt the cd you may be confused, this happened to me before some CD players claim they can play any CD format but cannot, Clarion is a good brand but I would burn a regular CD, or if it has the MP3 port it could be referring to an actual MP3 player

This is caused because of the Speed of your Cd, thats if u are playing a CD. For example a 48X Cd which is the speed that is marked on the CD can play on the Stereo, but perhaps a 52X cannot play as smooth as the 48X.

Not exactly. They are the exact same specification apart from the fact that the DB265 is capable of playing MP3s and the DB165 is not MP3 capable.

This only matters if you want the player to be able to play MP3s that you have burned onto disk. The DB165 can only play disks burned in normal CD format. If you put MP3s on the disk only the DB265 can play these back.

there should be no security code for this model radio. are you sure there is not another problem with the radio? does it read err?

Ya the clock can be the main display Press the buton at the bottom (one of the three button found on the left hand side) with the button found on the right hand side of the cd player (first colunm at the bottom... If u not sure wat i mean try all of the 6 buttons on the right hand side). Once u have the clock as desplay press and hold same buttons but this time longer untill The clock start to blink. Then use the radio tuner to ajust hours and minutes. Finally press only one of the button u used before (the left one)...all done!! Good luck

Press and hold the [D] button for 1 second or longer to switch to the adjustment selection display. Press <<(rewind) or >>(fast forward) to select CLOCK. Press Play/Pause button. Press <<(rewind) or >>(FF) to select the hour or the minute. Turn the [Rotary] knob to set the correct time. Press the Play/Pause button to store the time into memory. Press the [D] button to return to the previous mode. Reference page 9 in this link to your Clarion DB165.

Usually clarion radios have seperate colors to designate front, rear and sub preamp outputs.
Since youre is grey and black, Assume the grey is front, and black is rear.
If one set is longer than the other, the short is the front, long = rear.

yellow battery
red accessory
black ground
purple right rear + speaker
purple/black right rear -
green left rear +
green/black left rear -
white fr left +
white/black fr left -
grey fr right +
grey/black fr right -
blue auto antenna
blue/white rem amp
brown phone mute
orange/white illumination

take the face off, and stick a small pin in the reset button.
