Petz 5 problem/ .cat files
.cat files are secure catalog files. Are the files in the correct folder? The file location should be something like Programfiles>Ubi Soft>Studio Mythos>Petz 5>Resource>Catz. If the files aren't in the Catz folder under resource, they won't work.
I need to reinstall the software but don't won't
I can't tell you from experience because I have never played that particular game. However any other game i've ever played where you save your progress, there is always a profile or saved game file.
You will want to open My Computer-->C:/ (hard drive)-->Program files--> Ubisoft-->Petz in there you will find a file or folder with an obvious name (user name, profile name, saved game) something along those lines. Save the entire folder if there is one or just the single file to your desktop, reinstall the game....when you reinstall just make sure you put the file or folder back exactly where you found it.
Note:: You may need to start a new profile when you reinstall, afterward just put your saved file back where it belongs for it to work properly. (Sometimes the game needs to create the profile folder or saved game folder in the directory.)
***** Last thing is when you do uninstall the game it may ask you if you want to delete user settings and saved game files. If it does click no, that way you won't have to worry about loosing your stuff at all.

Try Inserting The Disk And Instead Of Loading It Go On My Computer And Petz 5 And Then Click Launch :)

Change your resolution to 1024x768 and that should help. Thats what the game likes to be played in.

I had the same problem. To fix that change the resolution to 1024x768 if your laptop resolution is set to high it will come out like you said. just have to change it back and forth to play the game.

Same thing happened to me go on general options and put host pets on the jack russell should come out and keep clicking for it to go over to behind the cannon
He eventually pushes it out

How To Fix A Non-Loading Problem On Petz 5
I have written this so many times, that I decided to make a tip out of it so I dont have to keep answering the same question over and over.
To fix the problem when your loading thing doesnt load fully, and it comes up with an error message, you need to follow these instructions.
a)Save your petz to a flash drive, or CD or floppy disk. NOT to the computor as they will get deleted. (this step is only if you want to keep your petz)
b) Uninstall and click "No" to "Do you want to save your petz?"
c) Install again.
d)Put your petz back on your game, by putting the Flash Drive/floppy/CD into the computor and copying the petz files into the petz folder. (if you kept your petz)
e) Play the game from My Computor, Petz 5, Play.
You will need to have the disk in whenever you want to play for e) to work.
If this doesnt work, ith saving your petz, skip steps a), and d).

On Dogz 5 the menu never pops up.
when you have the game you get options you get to choice if you want to have the menu if you don't have option return the game or i will send you a website to download the game again.

unfortunately when these games were made, they were done on a flat platform, meaning the graphics qualities and effects wouldn't be spectacular. It's something your petz will just have to deal with i'm afraid. typical gaming glitch
