You might get a replacement qy6-0050 print head from this outfit. I get print heads from them for other Canon machines. They are reliable.

I have found that using warm water on the paper towel helps get the ink flowing better.

Try finding the setting for it to clean itself, IF it comes with that setting, normally printer should, so just look around in the setting menu for a self-cleaning option, and let it do its work :) if it has no setting for self-cleaning, then try to clean it yourself then install the ink cartridges again.

The waste absorber is full. You need to reset the waste ink counter. The procedure is in the service manual here:
