Hi, I suggest you to download from Microsoft "Microsoft Visual C++" There are many versions depending on your OS and language

the reason they have a password is to secure the data. In order to reset the password you have to know the old one. The only way I know to get around it, is to use the restore disk which will let you set a new password or no password but most data is lost unless you have a back up.

check which wireless lan is in your computer by using device manager in control panel - system - device manager, then go to dell.com support, enter your serial number or service tag number from label underneath and look for updated driver for your specific wireless lan

Unfortunately it sounds like you have an issue with your motherboard. If you remove the battery and just try to power on the laptop using the AC adapter and it still won't power on then it's probably the motherboard. The power supply circuit (where the AC adapter plugs into) for the motherboard is integrated into the motherboard.
Sorry. If it's still under warranty Dell will replace the motherboard.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

You would have gotten a driver CD with your notebook. Please use this CD to reinstall the sound driver and ensure all connections are made.

check the HDD. use another HDD then install new OS... because sometime the problem comes from the HDD
