Yellow light on dell optplex gx270 motherboard

The yellow power indicator means a "No POST" situation. The fact that you were 'wiping' the hard drive is actually coincidental. I bet you did it because the computer was acting "funny".

IF the link is still good, go to http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/tree?c=us&l=en&s=gen&journalid=&treeid=38C43DA27A1AC953E040A68F5B281F68&Query=&SystemID=&ServiceTag=&contenttype=&os=&component=&lang=&doclang=&toggle=&dl= and that will run you through troubleshooting to help you diagnose what _caused_ the no POST.

If your missing devices are built into the motherboard (like sound, Ethernet etc.) then you need you install the setup CD that came with your computer and install the devices. This CD may also be referred to as a utility or driver CD. If you don't have this CD you will have to go to the support section of the manufacturer's website and either order a replacement CD or download the drivers for your MB.
If you missing devices are on plug-in cards or printers/scaners/ cemeras etc. that you installed after you first setup your computer then you need to install the driver CD for each missing device and run the setup program that is on the CD. If you don't have these CD's you will have to go to each manufacturer's website and either order the CD or download the drivers for the model number of the device.

http://download.cnet.com/drivermax/3000-18513_4-10572602.html Behind a slick interface, this program backs up all your PC's drivers in case you mess up something fierce. From registration to implementation, DriverMax works fast, runs smooth, and does even more than mere backing up. When you run the app, it asks you if you'd like to run the trial version or apply for a registration key. The key is free, though, requiring only an e-mail address and your name. Once you've entered the key, the program interface appears, with slick button navigation: Driver Operations, Updates and Identification, and Popular Hardware. Mousing over one reveals more choices, so you can export your drivers, import drivers, or view an installed drivers report. Updates lets you update both the DriverMax software and the drivers themselves, although as of this writing there is a warning label on the DriverMax Web site that downloads are not currently functioning. The program can also identify unknown hardware and point you in the direction of popular hardware options, pointing users to a compilation of statistics about different video cards and processors. The strongest features, though, relate to driver backup and reinstalls. They function smoothly, offering users the option to back up all drivers or compile a customized list. Reinstalling an "accidentally" deleted driver was as pain-free as could be. As of the version 4.4 update, the DriverMax Agent, which automatically scans for driver updates, works in Windows XP and Windows Vista 32-bit, but not 64-bit. This is a great utility tool that should appeal to newbies, advanced hackers, and everybody in between. Hope this helps don't forget to vote

My Dell laptop will not

If you can't turn it on with just the battery connected, try plugging it in also. If it still doesn't turn on, disconnect it and remove the battery. Wait several minutes and put the battery back in and plug the power supply back in.
Now try it. If it works, unplug the power supply and see if it stays on. If not, the battery is dead.
Oh--another thing to try--take the battery out and try running it just plugged into the wall.
If none of these work, you have a motherboard issue.

the best thing you could do is to increase your amount of ram in your pc this will handle the slow down problem. recording software takes quite a bit of ram space dvd software takes more ram than your cdrw. if you video card doesnt have its own on card ram this will also slow you down. depending on the motherboard you have its possible to upgrade the proccessor to a faster one 2.8ghz intel new can be bought for like 17bucks but ram is the easiest and sounds like just what your needing.

Dell latitude 620 video screen flickers

Hi,

Could you tell me what OS version you are running? I have encountered this issue before and can only provide you with the problem that I came across personally. If you are running Windows 7 you will get what looks like a really annoying refresh flash. I swapped back to Vista and the issue disappeared. Another piece of software that I found caused the issue was Acronis true image 2010 - when loaded the flashing started - I removed it and it stopped.

So it could be a software application - if you have access to another hard disk it might be worth building a clean version of your operating system and seeing if you have the same issue.

FIRSTLYThe error shows that your RAM is less i.e. 256 MB not your hard disk. You have a hard disk with capacity of 15 GB but your RAM is 256 MB only. You might be installing either windows Vista or Windows 7 because your system does not meet the minimum system requirements. You need to upgrade your system hardware or you can install windows xp.
SECONDLY You have to install the windows in your desktop only because if you install the windows in your laptop, then all the device drivers will be installed for your laptop only. So it is mandate to install the windows in your desktop only until you are using any third party tool.

I have a dell inspiron 1501.its lcd display not working

Hi there!

You can try a few things to check if there is something
wrong with the hardware of the computer.

First, try to update the video driver and also the BIOS
which you can get from the support website of DELL.

If the same problem persist try to run the LCD test .
While the computer is off press d+power the test should run and if it is an LCD problem, the display will either be blank or distorted.

Or if you will be able to re seat the cable connector
of the LCD that can be a good thing to try.

Hope this helps!
