Camera won't stay on with new batteries
Always charge NiMH batteries before using them for the first time, or if they have not been used for a long period.
Always charge sets of batteries (2 or 4) together.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
AA manganese (Zinc-Carbon) should not be used. hey have limited power and can leak in a short time, destroying a camera.

You should be able to buy SD cards at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store. You might also find them at drugstores and supermarkets. Make sure you get an SD card, 2GB or smaller, and not a higher-capacity SDHC card.

The 735 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.
