I have a aprilaire 600A
Thank you for contacting us. Does your humidistat have a blower activation switch on the lower left hand side of the humidistat? If you do it is our #60 humidistat, and if it is not there you have a #58 humidistat. The R & C are the two connections that supply power to the humidistat to give you the numbers on the digital display. The 60 you wire right into the R & C off the furnace panel. The 58 you need a constant 24 volt and 10 VA power source which you could get by using the transformer off a constant 120 volt power source to power the humidstat. If you are doing this correctly and you still do not get the numbers to show up, then you have a bad humidistat and you need to go back to where you purchased it from and exchange it under warranty provided you used a certified HVAC contractor to do the installation. Our warranty is only valid if you used a certified HVAC contractor to do the installation. If you have any additional questions please contact us at 800-334-6011.
Thank you

I replaced the water panel on our aprilaire 600
Thank you for contacting us with regards to your model 600 Humidifier. The Change Water Panel indicator should flash when the control knob is set to the Test/Reset mode. The flashing indicates that the timer has been successfully reset. However, the humidifier should operate for the first 60 seconds of Test mode as long as your furnace is running. If your humidifier does not turn on, contact your installer. The humidifier may require service.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.
Sincerely,

How to change from summer to winter
Can you give a little more info? Usually depending on where you live, people use de-humidifiers in the summer and humidifiers in the winter. If you need a humidifier year around, there should be nothing you need to do uther than filter cleaning and checking the water valve and cleaning the pan of mineral deposits. Depending on your water, you might need to pour a cup of limeaway in your pan and let it run for a couple hours. Then drain it, flush it, and let it keep running.
Solenoid valve won't open
Check for 24v.hum transformer shuold interlock/power up during blower motor hearing speed operation.Make sure its running.also manual mode resistor has to be installed in control panel.a blue plastic tag w/2 ends.
Our aprilaire humidifier is only 4 years old and
Hope this helps, check and see if humidistat is set to 35% humidity and that bypass damper on humidifier is in the open position or winter position.(humidistat is usually located on cold air return duct near furnace). Next, replace humidifier media pad, remember to replace media pad (filter) annually, you also may want to clean any lime deposit out of humidifier housing with a solution of warm water and white vinegar before installing your new media filter.Remember to turn power off at side of furnace when cleaning humidifier and replacing media. Before installing new media turn power back on to furnace, set humidistat to the on position, turn furnace thermostat above room temp., and inspect humidifier to see if water is running from top,(you may want to have a bucket under humidifier when checking for water), if you see water running, turn power back off to furnace, properly install new media filter, reconnect humidifier cover & set humidistat to 35%. If you do not see water present, check water supply valve to humidifier and make sure its turned on. If water supply valve is open, then check water supply tubing for blockage. And the last things to check is to make sure all registers through out your home are open and not blocked by any objects, also make sure furnace filter is cleaned, if none of this works refer to installation manual to see if humidifier was sized and installed properly, Good luck.
Why won't the water stop running?
When my humidifier refuses to turn off, it is always because the plunger in the electronic valve is stuck.
When the rheostat senses low humidity, it sends current to a coil, this creates a magnetic field that pulls a plunger up into a tube away from a rubber gasket (hole in center to match plunger) and water flows thru the hole. When humidity is high, the rheostat stops the current, and a spring/gravity push the plunger back against the gasket.
The plunger or the tube can get deposits, or just rust ever so slightly, and then the plunger gets stuck in the up = on position.
Buy a new solenoid valve $$$, or take your solenoid apart and clean the plunger and the tube with steel wool.
