Nikon N75 35mm SLR Camera - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I would like to know if a 24mm Nikon f2.8 Ai Manual Focus Lens will work on a Nikon N75 SLR Camera
Yes and no. It will fit and you can take pictures with it. You'll have to focus manually, of course, and you won't get any exposure help from the camera's light meter. You'll have to use the camera in the Manual exposure mode, setting the shutter speed on the camera body and the aperture by turning the ring on the lens and, as I said earlier, without any help from the camera's light meter.
Camera won't take pics on any setting but 22. Gives
Were you about to say it says FEE on any other setting? This is perfectly normal for a lens with an aperture ring. Leave it at f/22. You control the aperture from the camera body, the same way with a lens without an aperture ring.If you need a manual, you may download a copy
here.
The new roll of film winds into the right spool upon closing back cover // brand new batteries displays 1/2 and ERR appears on led panel
Is the ERR blinking, and is there an additional blinking E on the display? If so, the film is not loaded properly. The film is supposed to advance all the way to the take-up spool upon loading. The camera then "rewinds" one frame at a time as you take pictures. This way the camera knows exactly how many shots are left on the roll. Also, if the back is accidentally opened, the shots already taken are already in the can and won't be ruined. If you need a manual, you may download a copy
here.Try cleaning the battery contacts and see whether the battery reads full with no film in the camera. If problems persists, feel free to reply to this post and give any additional details.
Hello my question is about
First off, with no lens attached, it will always be fuzzy, there is nothing to focus the light. Second, if you're looking at the mirror, you should be able to tell if it's dirty - if it is, glass cleaner and a soft rag are all that are required.
I'd suspect however that neither are your issue. Either your focusing screen is out of place or damaged, or your camera's diopter correction (if it has it) has been moved, Look for a small dial right next to your viewfinder with a +/- on it, and with the lens attached, and focused, turn the dial until everything is in focus. If your camera has this dial, it'll be usually on the right side of the viewfinder window.
If it does not have it you'll need to seek a repair shop to check your focusing screen since the mirror is 99% not going to be the cause of your problem. If there are no shops locally, google KEH Camera. It'll run you $35 for an estimate, waived if you decide to have any needed repairs done.
How do I install the focus screen in the N75? I
If I remember correctly, all but the pro-level Nikon screens in general required/recommended a tech to replace the screen as they do require a special tool and special knowledge. The other's come supplied with the needed tool.
When I am trying to
On these cameras, if you're using ANY of the auto modes (P, A, S on the dial), the lense must be set to the lowest aperture setting (the highest number). Check to make sure this is the case. If it isn't, that's most likely your issue.
If you're using a non-CPU lense, this camera can only be used on M(anual) mode on your dial. If you haven't changed lenses this isn't likely an issue. If however you're using a new (to you) lense, this is a possibility.
According to the manual, the only other possibility is that your attached flash isn't set to the proper setting when using "P" mode. In this mode, the attached flash MUST be a Nikon dedicated flash unit set to TTL mode, otherwise fEE flashes with a little lightning bolt symbol. If you're not using a flash specifically designed for this model, remove it and try again. If you are, cycle the mode button on the flash until it reads "TTL" on the flash's LCD panel.
The manual makes no mention of fEE (error) and the battery indicator blinking, so these are the only things I can suggest with the information given.
I put new batteries in
I think it's saying "FEE". If so, turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest opening (largest f/number) and lock it. You can control the aperture from the camera body, the same was as on a lens without an aperture ring.
Film loads and then rewinds
Hi,
This problem is related with the Rewind pin of the camera..
would you please check the at the bottom to see if it is stuck in the hole or not ?
if it did ,try to get it to outside ..
If this was not case ,after you respond to me I may propose something else..
Regards
How to set the nikon
That depends on, among other things, the lighting situation and the desired effect. Under the same lighting situation, changing the settings can produce widely varying results. Which is best can only be determined by YOU, the photographer.
Nikon N75
what do u mean?
turn it on. adjust the photo, take the shots.ur good to go!
My camera won't take pictures.
Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest F/number). If the ring also has a lock, lock it in place. You control the aperture from the camera body, just as you would on a lens without an aperture ring.
I am trying to load
"ERR" is usally a camera malfuntion. Remove and replace the batteries while camera is on. If the camera has a hardware reset button, give that a try. If nothing works, then axam by7 an authorized Nikon Service Center is advised.
My camera won't turn on,
In that case there's nothing which can realistically be done. If the camera won't power up it's impossible to diagnose the fault without dismantling the camera and using specialist tools and skills. Effectively that means the camera has to go to a professional repairer.
Unfortunately, even the simplest bit of professional attention will far exceed to value of the camera. Also, the N75/F75 was a consumer model designed for a five year minimum lifespan and was never designed with repairs in mind. Spare parts availability was therefore poor when the camera was a current model and now the situation is even worse. For this reason alone, most pro repairers will not touch your camera with a bargepole unless you pay their minimum fee up front and understand that there's no refund if they find the camera is unrepairable.
This may all sound negative but it's not: you have absolutely nothing to lose by carefully dismantling your camera to try and see if there is a simple cause to the fault (perhaps a disconnected/corroded wire to one of the battery terminals?). If you fail, the camera is just as useless as before but you will have gained valuable experience for future repair attempts. Also, your camera is practically worthless second-hand, even if in near-mint condition and perfect working order. As a result, many owners have them lying around unused and can't be bothered to sell them for just a few pounds/dollars. I've never paid for one yet and all of my AF Nikon 35mm SLR's and lenses came from my local FreeCycle and Freegle groups.
Good luck, sorry the answer isn't what you hoped for, but please take a moment to rate my reply.
When I turn the camera
Hi,
If you face ERR with out any number then its a reason for Aperture lens not locked. So please check that and also check the mirror. That's must be in down side as normal not a upper heading.
ERR = Aperture Ring Not Lock
JOB = processing pic (in bulb)
LCK = SD Card Lock
BAT = Low Battery
Remove the lens and turn on. Click the shutter release button. With out lens this massage still showing? If yes then connect the lens & restore the camera setting. Is there any option for camera resetting for restoring ? If yes then go throw there or pressing the menu button for two seconds, if no luck the press both the menu and self timer buttons for 2 seconds... The last reset will reset the camera back to factory default. I hope it will work. Make sure the aperture ring is lock properly or if you have any other lens then fix it there and try.
Unless you need to send the unit for repair. These lens issue's are really common on these models and needs repair.
Few more tricks :-
. Ensure batteries
are fully charged.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body
for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine .
Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a
back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec ..
in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
My Nikon N75 has a black speck in the viewfinder.
That depends on where in the viewfinder. If it's the reflex mirror, use a bulb blower to clean it. Don't touch it with anything, and down't use canned air. The underside of the viewscreen can be cleaned with a soft cloth or lens tissue moistened with ethanol or lens cleaner (be careful not to touch the mirror as you do this). The same with the eyepiece.
If it's in the penta-mirror system then it gets a lot harder. You'd have to take the top cover off the body to get to the penta-mirror. Before you try this yourself, consider this. Do you have the proper equipment to make sure everything is aligned properly when you put it back together? An unaligned viewfinder can drive you nuttier than a mere speck (believe me, I've had cameras like that).
If, after cleaning all the accessible sources, it's still driving you nuts, consider having a professional do the cleaning. It'll cost more, of course, but you're much likelier to have a working camera at the end of the process.
I just bought my camera online and i got it in the
No. With fresh batteries the camera should come on as soon as you operate the power switch. It appears that you may have bought a faulty camera and so so you should see if you can get a refund from the seller or if you've paid via PayPal for an F75 sold on ebay you may be able to make a claim against the seller if uncooperative. Note that if the seller made no claims about the camera functionality and you didn't ask about it then you have no rights to any refunds.
Even the simplest of repairs to the F75 is not economically viable (even if you can get spare parts) as their value is now so low that they're often given away. I've never actually paid for an F75 as they've all come from my local Freegle/FreeCycle groups.
Rewind stuck on reverse
Hi Luce n Steve,
To quote JC at Photo.Net: "sometimes the rewind function "gets stuck" if the camera thinks a previous rewind did not complete successfully. The solution is to reset it by forcing a rewind operation. Just press the two rewind buttons simultaneously: on the left side of the lens and just behind the shutter release. (They are marked and the manual explains how to force a rewind.) I did exactly this, and my next roll of film loaded without problems." Hope that help you folks.
I am confused. Is the N 75 an SLR or 35 mm. My
Both. The Nikon N75 is a 35mm SLR camera. 35mm refers to the size of the film the camera uses. SLR (single-lens-reflex) refers to the design of the camera, which uses the same lens for both viewing and photographing, the film sees the same image you see in the viewfinder.
There are other 35mm cameras that are not SLRs. Likewise, there are SLRs that use other sizes of film.
