You can put up to a Phenom X4 995, but you'll probably need a better power supply if you still have the one that came from the manufacturer.

Most motherboards have one IDE port on this that you can run 2 IDE devices off of. Note the main reason for this IDE port is not all ROM drives are SATA yet but you can run hard drives off this port as well.

your model 1630 is listed as with AMD Phenom ii processor and DDR3 memory on asus web site. if thats true (you typed its Athlon?) then it should be AM3 socket.

you will need to locate the "restore disk" that you should have gotten with your machine. You need to boot from that disk and follow the instructions that are on the disk. WARNING....restoring the machine to factory state will most likely erase all your data. There are more detailed instructions if you check google, and the asus site. Overall if you can successfully boot the machine from the disk it is pretty simple.

Hi, It seems your power supply can't supply your computer power as needed so you need to replace your power supply. Use 500 watts pure power supply to avoid this problem.

Where is the monitor connected to the computer? Is it an analog or digital cable? Look on the monitor setup screen and see if changing the input signal will get you a picture. You're kidding about the video card, right? If the video card is in your hand and there is no place to connect the monitor cable....... duh.

My suggestion would be to take the instructions and follow them implicitly as I found with my HP Scanners in the past that they are really particular about when you plug in the cables and turn on and open the program etc. If I did them in the wrong order the system does not pickup the required instructions and you then don't have a successful install. Once working they are fine.

As soon as the screen comes up that tells what kind of computer you are using when you start the computer, keep tapping the F8 key and that will bring you to a menu with choices of safe mode, safe mode with networking, and restore to last known good configuration.

It could be a marginal power supply, gaming puts more requirement, processing power, therefore more power is required by the CPU and the graphics card. And of you are overclocking then it needs even more power and generates more heat. If you have a dedicated video card installed you should have a 550W power supply.

Another possibility is temperature threshold setting in the BIOS or some control panel tool run within Windows. If the threshold is set too low, the computer will turn off to protect the CPU. It may have something to do with the fan settings. Quiet setting for fans may prevent them from going full speed to cool things down. Try to run a system monitor tool to see how its handling the extra gaming load.
