My router wont hook back to my laptop and i forgot the password

Go to your control panle then select network connections, if you see your wireless icon, right click it and try selecting repair first.

Also, if the wireless icon is in the lower right of the monitor, right click it and view wireless networks, look for you router, then select it. Then select connect.

Power problem

Hi, You would need a VOM (voltmeter) to check that the power adapter of your is giving out the necessary DC voltage to the router from the power plug. If yes and you have ruled out that it is not the power adapter nor the AC mains where it is plugged, try again but do a hard reset. If still a no go, it may be that your router developed a problem in its internal voltage regulation circuitry. Normally inside would be a fuse, a reverse protection diode and a 3 terminal voltage regulator whose output is 5VDC with some capacitors. You should check each that component is ok and proceed to check whatever you can inside the router. If 5VDC can be detected but there are no indicator lights, it may be that the chipset is fried. If this is the case, it may be to your advantage to replace the entire unit rather than do a component level repair. Pls be reminded of safety precautions when working with powered electronic devices. This type of problem is caused by a strong power surge or near lightning strike. If you are not comfortable opening the unit, perhaps you should seek the services of a qualified professional. Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
