My school room has a

Hello,

This seems to me like a power problem. the system might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.

Try cleaning the lens with a CD lens disk cleaner, see if that rectifies the problem. Hifi systems are notorious for dust buildup being an enclosed system with an exposed cd drive deck.

When playing a cd on AK27 it keps jumping

Hello,

there are two things that might cause this,

  1. its either your speaker is too close to the system, whereby the bass come out from the speaker shakes the system and makes cd's to skip or jump
  2. or the lens (laser) of your player is weak. Also if the disc inserted into the player has a scratch, it will make the playing Cd jump/skip.
One of the above is the cause of the problem. So you can rectify the problem by observing from the above reasons.

Good luck.

When powered on the speakers make a repetitive

I can tell you that it is something that is common to both channels. So check out the power supply first. Pay close attention to large electrolytic capcitors anywhere in the system as long as they don't appear to be in pairs (IE:one for each channel).
A lot of these units use a single IC for the main amp. These are can be troublesome. You will find it on the heat sink. Often they are marked STK.
