My tv has no sound

If you are feeding an rf signal to your tv, the problem lies within the tv's audio circuits after demodulation of the signal. Try feeding a composite video and audio signal into set and see what happens. If set works then problem is definitely in the front end of the tv. If still nada you have a repair on your hands.

Crt spark flyback

If fly-back transformer gets sparks, no doubt, the horizontal output transistor will blow out, at the instance you switch ON the set. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window. I think the site will help you like people so much. Good luck.

Westinghouse tv stopped working

HiIf no standby light is on (red), maybe a blown fuse that can be replaced with a new one of the same value. If the blown fuse is blackened, some componet is bad inside the power supply. If the fuse replacement does no result, the problem may be in the power supply (IC power supply switching controller, switching transistor, startup resistor or even an overload in the supply line output) which requires a technician to fix it.Sully

No picture no sound

Most common cause is bad high voltage transformer and the sweep transistor just in front of it---only generic parts are available for this set--cost usually under 40 dollars but for a 27 inch (what is listed here) hardly worth fixing.

Rca tv ..how to hook up to home speakers

Unless the set has actual audio outputs it should not be done. The set will have a very low audio output not intended for external systems--if you hook to wrong impedance speakers volume either will not work, be very low or even damage the audio circuit in the set

STEPS TO PROGRAM T.V CODE IN UNIVERSAL REMOTE

Hi, For brands that require programming, there are two ways to program: Using Code Lists or Code Search. Use Code Search if the code lists are not available or if the codes from the lists do not operate a device.Programming a Device using Code Search:
  1. Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box)
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.
Programming a device using the Code Lists:

  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH.
  3. Press and release the TV, VCR or Cable button you want to set up. If programming AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device to be programmed (TV, VCR or Cable). When the selected device button flashes proceed to the next step.

Television has sound can change channels....but

HelloThe vertical sweep section of your TV is faulty. It may be either to a loose solder points at somewhere in that section of to the fault with the vertical output IC. Check all the solder points on the vertical output section of your TV. It is best to resolder most of the suspected soldering points, by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge short in between adjecent solder terminals. If this does not help you, replace the vertical output IC with same type and number. OK.

Hello
There are many reasons for this fault, and picture tube is one amoung them; but a very rare case. Normally, for all picture tube based TVs, short in the windings or the LOT [Line Output Transforemer] is a normal case. If this occures, there will be no picture or screen at all, as all voltages to the picture tube, including its filament voltage are derived from this transformer. Check this first. If it has faulty, the drive transistor [horizontal output transistor] will also will get leakey. First check this transistor. If found leakey, replace it with same type and number. Switch ON the set for a short period of time, say 5 seconds or so, and check the heat of the replaced transitor by touch, after unpluging the set from AC mains. It can be some heat with this transisotr, but it should not overheat. If it overheats, make sure that the LOT said above is damaged, and should be replaced with same type and number. All these components can be bought from open electronic spare part selling shops at your town. You can do this work by yourself at home, provided must have sufficiant testing and soldering equipments; and a sound knoledge in electronics.
If you don't ahve these, get the TV repaired by any experienced service technician, of by the authorised service center for RCA at your town. OK.

TV keeps turning itself off

You have a bad keyboard and particularly the on/off tact switch. It is better to go ahead and change the entire keyboard because the other switches will eventually give trouble as well. Call 1-800-638-3328 Encompass Parts Distribution and give the model number and mention the keyboard is the part you want. They may sell it to you retail. It can be changed easily by taking the back off the set and pull the chassis back to get to the keyboard toward the front. It is usually held in by two screws.

Hello
Power chords have normally 2 or three colductors in it, which will be colour coded. Just remove the outer insulation of the wire to a convenient length, remove insulations of wach condcutors and join them by twisting its strands, or by soldering, so this to all the conductors, insulate them indicidualy and after all insulate the whole around with insulation tape. Insulation tape can be bought from electrical shops. OK.

Horizontal width jitter after turn on, or picture

hi there, seems you're encountering horizontal width suddenly adjusted by itself. i recommend you unscrew the back casing, clean the crt board a bit and look for the capacitor on the secondary output of the transformer voltage chopper. it has this diode series with the output and filtered with electrolytic capacitor. if you notice bulgy appearance replace it with same type and farrad rate. most of the times it is unnoticeable by just physical checking. Some are leaky and can be determined using capacitance tester. The supply of the Vertical IC is not stable cause by this capacitor. replacing most of the capacitor wouldn't cost you much. hope this helps, please rate and vote

What is the channel I put the TV on to play my

Your dvd should have an RCA output, no coax. Therefore you can't use it like the vcr putting it on channel 3. You have a yellow, red, white input on the tv. You have to change the source/input on the tv to the corresponding input. Input 1, input 2, etc. If you need more help, I will be monitoring this for the rest of the evening.

When I turn it on, it makes a buzzy noise but

The set has a high voltage problem, "the flyack transformer is defective" It generates the high voltage in the picture tube and with the help of the video circuits it produces a picture. It is not cost effective to repair the tv, cheaper to replace.
