Centrios EDW8020 DVD Recorder Questions & Answers
My centrios edw8020 dvr records o.k. but won't play dvd on any other dvd systems
If the disc is not "finalized" it will not play on other DVD players. The steps to finalize the disc are part of the DISC Utilities Menu. under "DISC OPERATIONS". Choose "FInalize DISC". Instructions refer to finalizing DVD=R disc, so you may want to try this type of disc first and see if it works. Says It can be used as DVD-Video disc but results are not guaranteed. You can not edit disc after finalizing, only playback.
I bought this Centrios recordable dvd player;
hello,
the disc tray is operated by a mechanism inside the player, the problem would be that it is old and weak and cannot perform its functions anymore.
all you have to do is open the dvd player, gently unscrew the mechanism and replace it with a similar mechanism.
goodluck.
Keeps showing loading disc when blank disc is
I am having the same problem. I can view an external video feed through the Centrios unit on a TV monitor, but as soon as I load a recordable disc, DVD-R type, I lose the video and the LED on the unit never moves beyond loading.
Portable DVD player not spinning says no disc
Check to see if the disc is spinning. You can do this by one of two ways either
- a:) Listen for the disc to spin after inserting it or
- b:) Place disk in drive right way up (so that the label is not upside down). Load the disc and eject the disc again to se if the disc has moved i.e. the writing may now be upside down.
If the disc does not spin then it is likely that there is something wrong with the disc motor. If it does spin then the issue is more likely to be with the laser unit. Try cleaning the lens but if this doesn't help it's likely to be a more serious and ultimately more expensive problem.
Hope this helps
Have a centrios dvd recorder
FIrst of all it is important to confirm that the infra red(IR) emission from the remote control works. Use a IR detector connected to the multimeter in the resistance
check range( ohms) with the right polarity . Now press the remote pointed to the IR detector and if there is no
response you will need to open and check the remote control Unit.
If so click this link for help:
remote control repairs.
If there is response and detection then the DVD must be
checked for IR detection and processing in the control panel.
Will not play dvd to
Does this happen with every dvd or just a certain dvd. There could be a lot of reasons for this until I have more information to try and narrow it down. I would consider replacing it with another player from a reputable manufacturer.
Thank you,
