How do i transport the address book from old computer windows xp to new computer vista

The easiest way would be to identify the location and the file your Dymo printer uses to store its address. Copy the File to a USB memory stick, copy the File on the USB stick to your your new computer, and when you start up your Dymo printing utility open the copied file as your default address library. The problem you may run into can be caused by different versions of the Dymo printing utility. You may be forced (using the Dymo printing utility) to export the address book on the XP computer and then import the address book on the Vista computer. The picture below outlines this procedure using Dymo printing utility v.8 22951453-u3e4onjkdkuw1x4ugkluj4fw-1-0.jpg Also, if you have created any custom label designs you will want to transfer them as well

Its the most common issues with upgrading devices, the incompatibility of software and hardware from the old to the new systems. Yes, they upgrade so you may need to buy the new compatible models.

I have a Dymo Labelwriter

Hi,

You can download the software from the manufacturer's support website by clicking this link

On the page which opens, click on the LabelWriter and LabelManager link. Then download the software from the list which loads according to the operating system of your computer.

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

Won't turn on

The 330 series don't have an on button (they are on all the time, unless you unplug them), so presumably you are saying it is plugged in but the light is not on, the button on the front doesn't respond, and it doesn't print.

I'll assume that you have checked that the power supply is plugged in to a known working power socket and the socket is switched on if applicable (depends on country), and that you have checked the power cable is firmly plugged into the labelwriter.

Check to see if the power supply has an LED on it. If it has but it is NOT lit, and is definately plugged in then it is probably a dead power supply (or possibly a blown fuse).

In this case you can try a replacement power supply: Dymo LabelWriters (2nd item from bottom)

If the LED is lit then it would suggest that the labelwriter is broken.

If the line is always in the same place running vertically down the label then it is either dirt on the printhead or a faulty printhead.
In that case the solutions would be to buy a cleaning card (See the very last item on this page of labelwriter labels) or buy a new labelwriter respectively.

Do not work with windows7

Have you checked the Microsoft Hardware Compatability list for this device??? http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

If your device is listed, you are in luck. You may find special instructions there as well. If it is not listed ... time to upgrade your device.
