Kenmore 30464 / 30465 / 30469 Gas Single Oven - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Our oven used to turn itself on, now it won't turn
Hi- This type of problem usually occurs on electric ovens but is not unheard of in gas models too. The control circuit is fused and will not shut off. Not real safe. Solution is to replace faulty control. Some of these are pretty pricey, so get a solid figure from repair guy before fixin it. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed- Thanks- Ed
Bake at low temp. Heating element vs control board
you need a meter that checks voltage (220) and continuity. turn off breaker remove screws that hold element in carefully pull it out just enuff to remove wires.remove wires check for continuity on element if there element is good. tape the leads to the wires turn on breaker, turn on oven if no 220 volts bad board or broken wire.
Gas stove top works, broiler works, oven does not
is it electronic iginition? are you asking about top burner pilots? if so there are under the top in the middle beteen each side of the burners 1 pilot does burners on right and 1 on left. oven pilots are underneath you have to remove bottom door look in there at back and look up and you'll see it. if its a electronis ignition range you have no pilots!! glow coils and sparkers....
Kenmore gas oven; range&broiler work, not bake cycle-bad ignitor?
Well there are other parts that control the igniter, but if you can remove the igniter and look for any cracks. Most are hard to find so you may need a magnifying glass.Any crack no matter how small will keep it from glowing. The gas will not flow until the photo senser has detected the igniter glowing for several seconds. You can get a parts breakdown at SearsPartsDirect.com.Well hope this helps.
Hi,
I have a Kenmore gas
Hello,
Yes, you need a new oven ignitor. When they fail or begin to fail they behave in the manner you've described.
They typically retail for around $50 -$75 and you should be able to find one at most local brick and mortar stores or on-line vendor's.
Hope that help's, thank's for visiting "fixya" today. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Good luck.

We self cleaned and the 2 days ago and the door is
The lock is operated by a solenoid and may have stuck due to friction or goo around the magnet core. Try bumping the stove or lifting it 2 inches in front and dropping to the floor. 2 inches will not break anything. There may be a mechanical timer in the self-cleaning circuit... is your gas stove still plugged in and showing signs of power such as ability to ignite top burners electrically? If the timer has failed the door lock solenoid is still activated and there could be a slight hum. Try unplugging the range and see if the door can be opened. The thermal interlock should be free to let the lock retract. If that works replace the timer motor. If solid state (no timer motor) replace circuit board with timer relay.
We are installing a piece
Hello. You have two possible ways to proceed. One is to put an modified ogee edge on the insert which will fit fairly tight against the bull nose edge. The gap can be filled with a granite dust and epoxy mix and buffed out. The other way to solve this would be to put the filler piece on top of the existing counter top with an over lap of 1&1/2 inches. On the front edge you would fill in the space with another piece of granite and once again use the epoxy and granite dust mixture to fill in the gaps. Regards, Joe
Why does the Oven take so long to light?
It sounds like it might be a sticking gas
control valve for the oven or the hot surface igniter for the oven might be weak. You will need to turn the oven on and off completely several times until the problem happens. When I say completely I mean turn on the oven control and watch the igniter start to glow. Then when the oven burner comes on(should within a minute) shut of the oven control and wait for the igniter to stop glowing completely and burner to shut off completely. Then repeat the process again. If you try it about 10 times and nothing happens then the problem will be difiicult to identify. If you turn on the oven control and the igniter comes on but the gas burner does not then try giving the gas control valve(located in brolier/storage compartment) a tap with a wrench. If the burner suddenly comes on then the control valve was sticking. Try repeating the shut down/turn on process again. If it does not do it again you may have fixed the problem...if it does you will need to remove the igniter and test it with an ohm meter(should
read at least 500 to 800 ohms). If the igniter is testing good and glowing brightly then the gas control valve would be the suspected problem. And remeber to be very careful when doing these testing procedures so you do not hurt yourself.
Error code f7 on Kenmore wall oven 911.41165791
There is a probelm with the control panel. You can fix it for about a penny. The panel has a printed ribbon cable that plugs into the relay board. The ribbon cable is actually two cables pressed together, which can be seperated by simply lifting them apart. The ribbon cable has a defect in that the plasic insulation is defective, causing the leads between the two ribbons to cross, or short circuit. Simply place a thin sheet of paper between them, and make sure you push the paper down all of the way to the plastic housing, fold over the edges around the cable, you are done.
My Kenmore gas oven does not light.
Remove the oven Racks. Remove the oven base plate. Turn the oven on. You can then see the oven ignitor next to the oven burner. If the oven ignitor does not glow a bright orange, replace it. About a $90 part.
