My tv, a Sanyo 42" LCD model# DP42849, will not turn all the way on. When I push the button, the green light will come on but will quickly turn itself on and off without any picture or sound. It is on the correct input, and I have checked all of the power connections/cords. Can anyone help me?
Power supply board is dead.Buy a refurbish power supply board at Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com for the replacement.

hello my Sanyo dp42849 42 inch has no picture and no sound. when i turn on the tv a green light in the bottom right hand corner comes on and occasionally flashes off and then back on.
First, you need to know the sub-model of your TV.
It is called "chassis" and is shown on the back of the TV on the label where the model number is shown.
For example it can be "P42849-00" or "P42849-01".
Then search at www.coppelltvrepair.com/search or just go to www.coppelltvrepair.com and enter the link for SANYO DP SERIES to search for that.
Here's an example of a repair service (note it may NOT be the one for your exact model though!):

Hope this helps!

Sanyo DP42410. Everytime i turn the tv on/off it's like i'm plugging it in for the first time. I Have to set up Home or Store, etc. All the settings. We just got the tv. Set everything up, and when we turn it off, we turn it back on and there's no pic. You have to set everything up and go to hdmi 1. Please help. Thank You
I had to call Sanyo on this same problem, and I just wanted to help you out on this. When you turn on the the TV and it asks for home or store, chose home then do the channel scan. After the channel scan completes, switch to your tv source, hdmi1, then turn off the tv and back on and it should just go straight back to hdmi1. Let me Know if this works!

terrible sound, sounds like speaker blown. Got it 2 days ago.
If this is a "new to you" TV, keep reading. If it is a brand new TV, I'd be on the phone to the store to have a replacement ready for delivery / pick up. You do not want to be repairing a TV that is 2 days old.
The first thing to do is determine if the distortion is coming from the speaker or if it is on the signal going into the speaker. Do both speakers sound distorted or only one?
You didn't include the model number of your TV, so I can't speak to specifics. Look for a terminal on the rear of the set identified as "speaker" or "external speaker". If provided, there will be one set of terminals marked for the left and one for the right external speaker.
Connect a speaker directly to the terminals marked for either the left or right speaker (connect to the one that sounds distorted if only one of the built in speakers works correctly - other wise pick either speaker terminal pair.). Speakers that have RCA plugs on them, have built in amplifiers, require batteries or or to be plugged in to an outlet should not be connected here.
Alternatively, you could connect a pair of stereo headphones or earplugs if your TV offers a jack for them. It would have a headphone icon or say "phones" above the jack if one is provided.
Once connected, turn the TV on, lower the volume and set the TV to enable the external speakers / disable the internal speakers. This may be done via menu item selection or a small switch near the speaker terminals. Slowly increase the volume to listen to the quality or clarity of the sound coming from the speakers you connected. If they sound distorted, the problem lies with the audio amplifier in the TV. If they sound OK, then there is a problem with the speakers in the TV.
If you can't return the TV, you may have to see about using the left and right audio line out or HDMI jacks to send the audio to an external amplifier and speakers to hear the program.
I hope this was helpful and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thank you.

There was an electrical storm earlier this morning, the tv was working fine, but now will not power up at all. I've tried plugging the tv into different live outlets in the house but still nothing. Any suggestions?
More than likely your power supply board is damaged. The scary thing about TV's that get damaged as a result of T-storms is that multiple boards can get damaged. I would suggest taking it to get it diagnosed properly instead of the 'guessing game". That game could cost you more in the long run.

Have tried all alternatives but none will work.Do i have to buy another cable ?.
Make sure you are connecting to the TV's audio-OUT jacks, not the audio-IN jacks. Also, check the TV options menu. Some TVs have a choice of internal or external speakers and you have to select one or the other; obviously, you would select "external".
On the soundbar make sure you have selected the correct input jack for the audio cable.
