Pentair Minimax CH Heater Questions & Answers
Electronic ignition not hearing the
There are multiple things that will cause this symptom. Among these causes are no water flow, defective igniter, etc. If you have a volt/ohm meter and are good at electrical diagnostics you might be able to call the Pentair technical support line and they might be able to help you determine what part or parts are faulty. I hope this helps.
Ther polit light will not
If the plot light will not stay lit then usually either the pilot is not sufficiently heating the thermocouple or there is a problem in the pilot control valve. I hope this helps.
I have a CH-150M which
Hi,
Now that it is not working you can find the cause and know you have it fixed...problem is that you are going about it all wrong...
The only way to truly find the problem is to use an electrical meter and follow the power till you find what is interrupting it...
If you do not have a meter then find someone that does and have them follow through the system to find where the circuit is broken...
My focus would be on the pressure switch... you cannot test that unless you jumper it in the exact right sequence in the start up operation of the unit....

Heater fails to ignite after
I have a pool heater, let me try to do this from memory.
For a gas heater to allow an ignition several things must occur and be proven.
There is a water pressure switch or flow switch to ensure water that will take the heat away from the heat exchanger is there in adequate flow. Find this switch and ensure that it is closing.
Next, a forced air fan starts. There is a switch that closed if air flow is adequate for the amount of gas in the flame. Is that switch closing?
The thermostat must be set higher than the incoming water temperature, is that circuit closed?
At this point, the electronic igniter sparks on my heater. Do you have a standing pilot light?
Next, the gas valve opens. Is the gas valve getting voltage?
If so, once the flame ignites, there is a thermocouple that must sense high flame temperature to allow the gas valve to stay open to heat the water.
There may be more and this may not be all for your heater, but if you have a multimeter, these are some things you can test.
Gary - let me know how you do.
Pentair minimax 200 m electrical installtion?
Don't know just what your asking but if you want to know where it comes from. Wire the unit from the timer for your pump so it wont fire without the pump. Be sure to check the voltage on the pump and the heater will need to be wired the same (110-220V) This will be done inside the heater at the transformer. You will find instructions inside the panel of the heater.
Pentair spa and pool control
Yes, the water must be circulating rapidly when the heater is on from being cold. Once hot, it can just circulate gently.
