Hey Scott,, Do not crank your bike again!!. Drain the the oil. see what color it is?? Is it creamy color?? Change the oil filter!!! If it is creamy - this is something that is mixing with your oil (gas).. Time to have your carburetors PROFESSIONALLY cleaned and set... if your engine "hunts" at idle could be a carb issue or the throttle cable that is too tight, OR the intake valves are TOO TIGHT..this will cause a "high idle and floating idle".. After having the carbs professionally done, replace the air filter(s) and install new spark plugs... it should be fine..
The biggest difference is that the 2007 GSXR 600 has fuel injection instead of carbs. The FI symbol will alert you that the sensors on the Fuel Injection system have found a problem. When that happens, a dealer will be needed to hook up a code reader to see what the problem is. A dirty air filter is something you can fix. A fuel mapping problem is for the dealer to fix. Minor FI problems still let the bike run. Major problems shut down the fuel system so the engine will not even start. Other than that, just be sure the bike shifts smooth and easy and that all electrics and brakes work properly. How old is the battery? How much life is left in the chain? Does the clutch operate properly? How soon before new tires will be needed? I hope this helps. Please rate my answer.
hi,if the bike is a carb model, you may have a leeking float needle seal, this is quite common, basically if the float needles leak they will allow fuel to flow unchecked into the carb, ultimately flooding the carb, the fuel then runs down the inlet manifold and into the sump, hope this helps...cheers
try a can of Seafoam $10 @Autozone our in 1/3 to 2 gallons gas and drive for about 10 to 15 miles and see if that stuff will clean out the whole fuel injector and idle system get on it once in awhile to but be safe. Now if that doesnt do it, then look for loose hoses or vacuum leaks...just spray carb cleaner around the throttle body and injectors and if the idle increases you've found your leak. i hope this was at least helpful Thanks!
not 100% sure if this is a fuel injected bike...if it is...maybe the fuel fillter needs changeing...if its a crab engine....try cleaning the carbs out!!
