Just remove the lever, gently pull rubber boot out of the body, take a snap ring pliers, and remove the circlip, and pull the piston out of the body. Use the piston as a reference to install the seals correctly on the new piston. Be sure to take out the screw in the reservoir, remove the reservoir, and clean the fluid return pin hole ( Must Be Clear) , next to the large fluid feeder hole. Also using a dowel covered with a lint free cloth gently wipe out the piston sleeve being careful not to scratch the walls ( Do Not Hone The Master Cylinder or it will be ruined). Coat parts with brake fluid before reassembly in reverse order. Cover bike with plastic and put some old rags under master cylinder. Before tightening brake hose bolt, fill the master cylinder with dot 3/4 brake fluid and pump the lever until the master cylinder is pushing fluid out the end where bolt and hose are loosely connected, now tighten bolt holding the brake line on. This will aid greatly in bleeding the system.

Cbx 550 fires on 3 cyclinders for about 2 seconds the dies, wont run for a period of time, i cleaned the carbs, also the bike had been sitting for about 4 years, any help would be great.

Clean fresh gas? Checked the spark? The spark plug wire ends should be replaceable. They usually just twist, or unscrew, from the wires. They can get corroded or just plain wear out just like a cars spark plug wires do.

I have both a CBX 1000 6 Cyl and a CBX 550 F2 and both tanks are Steel ( My bikes are both UK Spec but I dont think Honda changed the tanks for other countries)

Front brake lever has zero resistance, and does not work. fluid is full and pads r fine.HELP

I would suspect a faulty brake cylinder or air in the cylinder. Remove filler cap from cylinder on handlebar and quickly squeeze the handle, watching inside that cylinder for bubbles and fluid movement. If neither are present then you may have a bad master cylinder and need to replace it.If you have air, then you'll need to get a master cylinder bleeder kit and bleed the air out of the master cylinder. The bleeder kit will have specific instructions on exactly how to bleed master cylinder. Also - if, when you remove that cap, it looks like oil floating in the reservoir then somebody mixed brake fluids and wasted the o-rings and rubber in the front brake system - this is really bad and you'll need to replace all rubber seals and hoses for the front brake system as well as flush the system with the proper fluid.

Hydraulic clutch gives no feedback at all and after shifting into gear(engine off)rear wheel remains locked with the clutch fully depressed. Have bled lines until no sign of any air remains. Have been...

Does the clutch lever have resistance whiles depressed?
Put your bike on the center stand, select any gear say 2 or 3 , press the clutch lever and thn rotate the rear wheel harder , it may release the sized clutch plates.
Hope this helps!
