the main jets just unscrew out use a socket if you can but dont over tighten when refitting.undo the 4 screws holding the carb bowl on and the jets are straight in view.

Need picture of shift shaft on motor for 1982virago 750

sold mine, bike, the larger one xv1000
restored it to mint, and sold, it.
carbs like new, me.
starter motor in this bike is a thing to HATE (big time) the parts inside the engine for starter drive. horror.
the shifter is simple. a shaft and spline and lever. it is adjusted.
the books are hard to find now, found mine in year 2005 .

you lack a service manual and I never touch any car or bike lacking one. for sure this bike with odd things here
i see manuals sold by scaplers now, for $200 ,same as what I paid for my not running bike day 1. old 2005
XV750J-SE Virago
try here.

I also tuned my carbs just a tiny bet richer, and omg huge power increase (after fully kitted and tuned all)
10% more. jets size , used. cruise jets,.
good luck if working blind and no real books.
My BMW R100, is mint too and amazing ride. a real torque monster. (paid $3 for it )

Not sure exactly what you are needing? Carb size? Jet sizes?Float adj? Also ,is this an '86 TT225S? If so the carb is a 40mm Mikuni, the Pilot/Slow Jet is a #42, the Main jet is a #118 Can you be more specific on model and what you are looking for if this is not what you need?

83 virago 750 under 3500 rpm runs bad. over 3500 runs good

hi,says here you had the carbs redone,it sounds to me like the carbs were not rebalanced after installation,if you do any work at all ocn carbs it is quite important that the carbs be properly rebalanced,it only takes very minor adjustments inside carbs(even a scratch on a jet)or different torque settings on screws etc will trow the balance out,if you get this done i think your problem will disappear..hope this helps
