My info says upper engine, center, close to water outlet, for the coolant temp sensor.
If your not sure look up wiring diagram for that sensor, note the wire colors. Autozone.com has free wiring diagrams as well as bbbind.com
You can get wiring and fusebox diagrams at Autozone.com for free when you register your car on their site.
The wiring diagrams are color coded, you can use some of the computer tools to magnify the results so you can see the details better. Use the print Preview feature after your mouse click. Then you can manipulate and print the results.

Go to Autozone.com and register your car for free. When you are on the site, you will be able to find Fusebox layouts and chassis wiring diagrams. Then you can print out what you need.
Also nice is that when you look on the computer screen, you can often adjust the scale of your view and magnify the diagrams making it easier to see the wiring letter codes for color.
That info is in a publication by Ford called the Electrical Troubleshooting Guide, it is copyrighted and not free to download. You can buy a license to use the manual fairly cheap alldatadiy.com or find a used guide on eBay for around $15.00.
