The bendix is sticky. Remove it and you will see a helix with a cog on it. clean it with gas and a brush or MAF Cleaner. Dry it and add a little light machine oil.

how to adjust the carburetor on suzuki ls650 savage how to check the oil in ... 1988 suzuki savage 650 bobber repair vedio 1991suzuki ls650 ...
your carburator is flooding . letting petrol runnining into combustion chamber and then past rings into crankcase mixes with oil. Happend to me to could not believe that was possible myself . replace float needle and fit a feul filter if needed.
engine dont have to come out,..take the gas tank off, unbolt all bolts except the two on the break side,.. caps will come off ,... right under the right side cao is the cap youre looking for!
I had the same prob with my 97, It was not the head gasket but the O-ring on top of the head. Replaced the O-ring and has been running good for a year now with no backfire. Hope this helps.
Probably the gasket is worn, and doesnt seals the cover to the oilcarter.
drain the oil..open the cover...replace the seal(gasket)...cover back on,turn the screws tight but not to tight...put oil back in...start the engine let it idle for 3 minutes then rev it to apr. 4000 and hold it for 1 minute...kill the engine, check the screws and tighten hard if needed.
That should stop leaking from the front, so you can get back to riding again.
greetings.....Gilbert.
