I speak from experience, I have a 180cc Pulsar, me and my wife both travelled on the 180cc together, we commuted approx. 100km daily and had fuel efficiency of approx 35km/l on the 180cc, I think you might still get about 30km/l on the 220cc, if it is only you travelling on the bike, the 180's top speed(with a bigger front sproket, 17 instead of 15) was about 125km/h(not pussing it in the red)
Hope this help to make up your mind, personally I would go for the 220 if it is speed you want

When you start it, it starts and runs fine with no problems. But when you ride it and put the engine under load it breaks down, by missing and carrying on? Does it does this when your not moving and just revving the engine?
