If the oil light goes off once the engine is started this is normal, if it stays on while the engine is running there is a problem.

Check for vacuum leaks. This might just be the MAF sensor on your intake. See if cleaning the manifold with tuner cleaner helps. Check also for error codes if possible. If you bike has one it will help pinpoint the problem other wise it could just be the MAF or the oxygen sensor.

Hi there i have 2008
Was the oil filter replaced, while changing oil.If no, then its advisable to replace oil filter. When the oil is replaced, always replace the oil filter too.
Remove the air filter out and check, it can be coming from the cylinder itself or a 1 inch rubber tube going from one cylinder to the other. If this tube is cracked it can leak oil from the top back of air filter housing.
----------
The basic oil and filter change procedure is as follows:---
Remove the drain plug and drain the oil into a drain pan. Remove the engine side cover and pull the comb filter out. Make sure the the o ring is on inside the filter before installing the new filter. There is also an o ring that goes onto the cover before installing the cover. Bolt the cover back. There should be a small finger screw cap on the top of the right engine cover (the cover with the oil sight glass on it). Unscrew it and add oil till it's just to the top of the site glass (with the bike sitting as level as possible). -----------
This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
