Daelim history 2006..sometimes loses power
Hi,
The problem would the clutch pulley roller weights and the clutch torque pulley.
You have to bring that bike to the service center to check those parts that I mentioned.
The roller weight is the one that puts some grip on the drive belt to the gearing speed, and the torque pulley is the one that drives the wheel. both of these pulleys have small parts that should be maintained to get the maximum acceleration and speed.
Hope that helps you out!
Lost manual...not sure what weight
Hi,
That Daelim uses ang ordinary 4T oil, which is 15W/40 or a hi grade 20W/50 for the engine.
The 90W lubricant, you are saying is for the gear oil or differential.
Hope that helps you out!
The 2006 Daelim History Scooter
Slow speed circuit in the carb is clear and working as it should. The main jet is plugged with a bit of trash or is sucking water built up in the carb float bowl from condensation in the gas tank.
In below freezing themp the trottle sticks wild
Make sure you oil the throttle cable/s regularly with wd-40. Also pick up a can of carb cleaner and spray a little on the carb where the cable connects and you can scrub down there with a toothbrush.
Engine won't turn over
The usual suspects are the timing and coils. Then there's a fouled plug/wrong plug possibility.
May I suggest a trip to your local library. Cycle repair books should be in 646 stacks of reference.
Battery is good but engine won't turn over
check your conections on your battery/starter and the ground wire...if that dosent help...a battery can read full charge and still be junk you can take it to a gradge and get it load tested..theres a good chance that if your conections are good then the battery is junk
Scooter won't start
I think you need to take it to your local scooter shop and have the carburetor cleaned and the spark plug changed ask to have the routine service done
Grips
u can take the current ones off by simply heating them to warm the cement then pull...if that doesnt work u could use a razor blade but bake sure that u dont cut anything.
you could put the wire around the grip if u want its all up to u.
Tire saftey
A good patch job (removing the tire and repairing with a patch on the inside of it) I feel is much better than a plug IMHO
I used to do allot of automotive tire repairs with patches and can't remember if any actually came apart or became defective. The plug may have a tendency to loosen and leak.
On the other hand allot of people would replace the tire just to have peace of mind with regards to motorcycle tires. 1500 miles is close enough to justify replacement.
