2007 aveo LT was on light is his airbag, what was the cause of this malfuction of airbag?

If the light is on, a code is stored. PERIOD. If you can read the code, then you're not using a professional grade scan tool. Cheap scan tools only read generic codes and don't read B, U, or C codes. And, you cannot turn off an airbag code. You must fix the problem.

have the code retreived using an airbag hand held scanner this will tell you if a sensor is bad or wiring or the airbag control module is bad.

I would start by replacing the radiator drain plug and I would also have the coolant system pressurized and checked for a coolant leak.

You could clear the code with a scanner, but its possible the sensor for the driver side bag is faulty.

I have a 2008 Aveo and my airbag light has been on for almost a year. I refuse to pay dealer $80 just to tell me why it's on then have to pay them again to fix it. I heard that the sensors under the pass. seat can come unplugged, so my husband unplugged them and plugged them back in and it still the light is on. This is sooo frustrating....I really just want to reset it...anyone know how??
