Code p1529

Hi
Any code starting with "p" refers to powertrain ie gearbox/final drive and the 1529 code refers to a signal error from a SCAIR solenoid in the Vtec series engines.
Not your saturday morning side of the road repair I'm afraid.

Code 1529

Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on. P1529 is a TCM MIL request to the
ECM.
TCM = Transmission Control Module. The sluggishness is really what is known as 'fail safe' mode (3rd gear). You should have had other codes besides P1529 to identify which system in the transmission caused the problem.

Obd codes 720 1529 3600

P3600 in my listings shows as being reserved by the SAE for future code definitions, and that there is no current definition for a fail code as such. P0720 is a transmission output circuit failure. Sounds like something in the transmission controls has gone south, creating the P1529 code that emissionwiz correctly identified. However, "output circuit" is kind of vague. Are there any driving impressions you can share? Does the car seem different in any way?
