Unable to locate oil filter for RX400 2007 - 2007 Lexus RX 400h Hybrid

It can be difficult to determine the source of an oil leak, especially if the valve cover has already been replaced. Here are some common causes of oil leaks in vehicles:

1. Engine gasket leaks: Engine gaskets can leak oil, causing oil to seep out onto the engine and surrounding components.
2. Engine oil seals: Engine oil seals can become worn or damaged, causing oil to leak from the engine.
3. Engine oil cooler: Engine oil coolers can develop leaks, causing oil to leak out of the engine and onto the manifold.

5. Engine oil filter: Engine oil filters can develop leaks, causing oil to leak out of the engine and onto the manifold.

If you are unable to locate the source of the oil leak, it is recommended to have a professional mechanic inspect the vehicle

The oil filter is located on top of the engine underneath the egine cover.... when you takee the cover off it will be down by the intake manifold on the right hand side. it looks like there is just a black cover with a nut on top it is a 36mm nut and can be tricky to get loose if you dont have a short socket. the filter is a cartidge that is under that cap

this engine has a canister filter - look for an aluminum housing at the back of the engine with a large hex unscrew the cap and pull out the filter

The Location of the oil filter depends on which engine you have in your CTS. the 3.2 engine the oil filter is located on the bottom of the engine to the left of the oil pan. It is not a screw on type filter it is a canister filter. You will have to unscrew the lid to gain access to the oil filter. On the 3.6 Engine the oil filter is also a canister filter but it is located on the top side of the engine. On the drivers side around the center of the engine cover. It will take a 15/16 socket to remove the lid.

This is for a 96' , 3.8L but it's all I could find, but will check again if no help. Let me know.

Go to your local auto parts store, and get an oil filter wrench.

There should be a square hole for a 3/8 ratchet or a octagon for a wrench to remove th adapter. Some had allen wrench fittings which would be a recessed octagon
