I just looked at this problem again .
Try this check the connection at the junction box before the fuse box
Its drivers side near the ABS unit under a plastic cover .
What it is is the connection that feeds power from the battery and chargeing system to the computer and all other low voltage systems that control sensors and low voltage systems .
So the main systems work high voltage but the low computer control systems don't because it happens after the high voltage starter alt .voltage regulator lighting systems .
This is a short at the computer low voltage controls how the engine runs
First there are several things to check, are you getting power to the fuel pump? When you turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump cycling for a few short seconds? Have you checked the fuel pump fuse and relay? Has the vehicle been in an accident recently even a relatively low speed accident can trip a fuel pump inertia relay which is resettable. If the fuel pump has been changed recently and is working, check the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail with a vacuum pump to see if it is working, if the fuel pump regulator isn't working it could be sending the fuel straight back to the fuel tank without building enough pressure to be seen on some fuel pressure testers.
This might sound silly but make sure there is fuel in the tank, I have overlooked the simple things looking for a more serious problem first. Hope this helps and Good Luck.
Check to see if fuel is getting to the filter. Maybe too much dirt in lines & plugged filter? If fuel at filter, put hose in place of filter JUST LONG enough to see if fuel is getting to fuel rail.
