Front doors fail to open with either keys, had the whole system repolaced ny bmw in september 2009.

It sounds like the key needs reprogramming. When the battery was removed, it lost its memory. Visit the Dealership, and Auto-Electrician or an Alarm Installer.

I had this issue on a BMW, and it had a way to use the key in a door lock and pull up on handle while turning the key and key would then turn further than normal to manually open door. Dealer service department should be able to tell you the procedure on yours. If the dealer won't help, try a different dealer. Some are great--some are jerks.

there is a motor placed inside the doors for the operation of the central lockin system. when you open the door by key this motos is activated and all door locks are released. your problem may because of this motor is failed.

cause of the failure
1.the wire going to the motor may be chopped off.
2.the junction box connecting the wires may be damaged.
3.fuse may be blown out.
4.motor itsef damaged.

so please check weather power is coming to the motor using multi meter. if the power is not coming to it then the problem is with the wires. if the power is coming to it then problem is with the motor.

i suggest you to take to BMW because you need to remove the door pannel its better if they do it.

I suggest you to check fuse # 57 15Amp at juction box, you can access it from glove box. if the fuse is blown, replace it with 20A and try to operates lock/unlock 10X and replce door lock fails to responce during the operation. dont operate lock/unlock 15X the system will stop and you have to wait for few min to function it again.

insert the key into the drivers side or passender side front door, twist the key and pull open on the handle at the same time and the door will open. It might take a few times to get it, but this does work, source BMW AG Munich.

you can take the fuse out from under ther bonnet and open and close the doors manually(boot may not open though), the fault is with one of the locking mechenisms in any door
