Did u check to see if there is power going to the fuel pump? if there is no power its the relay or a short circuit, most likely check the relay first to see if it get energized, if im not wrong i think it is behind ashtray

Have a 01 volvo 1.9LT v40 ,bat good fuses ok relay ok dash lights-up the eng. doesn't crank or start

Check for fuel pressure / sound of pump going with key in the "on" position as it primes the fuel system. There should be a schrader valve on the end of the fuel rail, it's got a plastic cap on it - uncap it and depress the valve carefully ; if you have good fuel pressure it should be pressurized and come out fast. If not, bad fuel pump or fuel pump relay.

My 85 volvo 740 turbo 2.3 eng .start but die right after start seen like is out of gas or out of spark

Very common problem with the Volvo 2.3 is the fuel pressure regulator .When this device fails it does not hold fuel as it should and return all fuel needed to start the vehicle, To trouble shoot it a mechanic would get a needle nose plier and crimp the return line if it stays running and as he releases the crimp and it stalls its the fuel pressure regulator that needs to be replaced, Another way he can determine if the regulator is at fault is to check the oil if it has raw gas smell in it it a sure bet the fuel return regulator has failed,

99 740il misfire cylinder 1,5 and 7 fuel cut off

Might be a ghost in the machine or an early sign of future problems.
If the light stays off there is no need to do anything but investigation will be needed if it returns.

Diagnosis will be better entrusted to someone familiar with the system and has access to the data for the car.

I have a Volvo S60 T5 2002. I have not done the maintenance after the 100,000 miles. Can you tell me which prts I need to change?

There are a few things that need to be done, first the timing belt and waterpump if this engine has one most do, so for this you would need a waterpump timing belt kit with pulleys, next is a complete tune up, spark plugs ,wire if eng uses if not then coil boots, air and fuel filters cabin filter, pcv valve, a fuel system cleaning which is done by machine at a shop called a motor vac service. then check fan belt , flush cooling system, coolant needed.and then the rest of the service is a lot of checking like brake, suspension , exhaust etc, hope this helps.

Carb 740cuts out while driving fuel filter empty

Check in tank priming pump, also check inline fuel pump. runs only while eng. is rotating.

Hard to start

U are right about the gas draining back to the tank, the electric fuel pump in the fuel tank has a check valve built into it to prevent drain back, the system should always have pressure, to check this u will need to hook up a fuel press test guage at the test valve on the top of the eng near the injectors, run the engine and shut it down, the pressure should not drop more than 5 PSI overnight.

1995 Volvo 960 idles rough, Emission Control light on dash is on

Possible intake gasket leak causing a misfire, or plugs or coil causing a misfire. each cylinder has its own coil. You can hear the vaccuum leak with your ears under hood if gasket is bad. Check eng codes at advance auto prob for free. If it has misfire codes only, prob coil or plugs. If misfire with fuel trim, prob gasket.

Fuel Delvery

you really need to test fuel pressure/did you replace filter under car/you should also replace fuel regulator on top frt of eng./but most likely the fuel pump has moved on the mounting bracket and allowing fuel to leak back into the tank (low pressure)
