Hello f poll: My name is Roger and I will help you. There is no fuel filter that you can easily get to. GM did not install a replaceable filter. The only filter for your GMC is located inside the fuel tank. To replace it would require removal of the fuel tank. What that means is this. When you replace the fuel pump you will replace the filter at the same time. The pump and the filter are a module unit. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. not an oil filter but I think an fuel filter would do it, try changing fuel filter and adding a couple cans of dry gas

Why to replace sock? You have to clarify what is going on with your car...and yes there is filter that is easily replaceable...

The filter lives under the car near the right rear tire (just in front of it). BE VERY CAREFUL- If you break the quick disconnects on the fuel lines it will cost you a fortune !! $500.00+ to replace the fuel lines. The fuel lines are pressurized so you will need to relieve the pressure before you try and remove the filter or you will get a face full of gas. The filter comes off by pushing the fuel line toward the filter and then pushing the quick release button on the fuel line. The fuel line should then decouple fairly easily. Before you start the car cycle the key on and off 2 or 3 times to refill the filter.

Make sure the fuel filter is clean. You may need to drive it with a fuel pressure gauge. Fuel pressure should be 55-62 psi. It its lower , the fuel pump may need to be replaced. Replace the fuel filter. Replace the filter every 10-15k miles.
