If that rattle sound more like a whining the problem is a leak, that is why the problem went away when they replace the power steering fluid.

Constant whistle noise from power steering pump

They will whine if level is low or when fluid needs replacing. Try checking level with wheels at center position.

2004 TOYOTA AVALON HARD OR JERKIE STEERING

If the power steering fluid is ok then just about the only thing that this can be is a defective power Rack and Pinion steering gear assembly. Since this part is very expensive and a front end align is required if it is replaced have a front end shop or the local Toyota dealer confirm my suspicions.

In my 1996 toyota rav4 mainly when I am parking the car the car makes a noise when turning the steering left or right. What that could be?

Hi there !

The noise is coming from your power steering pump, And it usually happens when you have low power steering fluid or burnt fluid or bad Pump. check for fluid level and make sure its not black. Good luck

I have a 97 Toyota Avalon and it kind of shakes when I get to 35 or 40. I replaced a tire and it helped alot!! But still shakes some. Could it be a tire rod or strut? Or should I just change the other...

If you think the tyres are in reasonable condition get the wheels balanced. If the front tyre/wheels are out of balance you get shake in the steering wheel at certain speeds. Backs out of balance are usually felt through the seat.
I cant see a connection between the power steer fluid level and the gear shift.

If there is a leak in the power steering and makes this rattle sound, does that mean they need to replace the power steering pump? how do you fix a leak? for the 97 toyota avalon. The power steering...

If power steering pump is leaking your options are: replace w/new or rebuilt or have yours rebuilt.
They make stop leak for pwr steering units but it's a very temporary fix. In answer to "driving it" - it's at your own risk - if it locks up then there's possibility of an accident. I'd get it fixed and be done w/the worries. Have a reputable shop look at it and give you an estimate.

When i turn my toyota avensis a rattling noise comes from it , but when i turn on air con it stops or is not as bad ,seems to happen when i clutch too

Avalon almost have the same design as benz..most likely you need to change the belt tension..that why it making that rattling noise..because the belt tension it weak..and check all the pulley while changing you belt good luck
