Find your fuel lines and trace them under the hood untill they run into the fuel rail (long and skinny and has injectors underneath of it) at the end of the fuel rail their should be a shrader valve (usually has a cap that looks similare to the ones on your tire valve.remove the cap and poke the center of the shrader valve down dont stand directly over top of the valve and watch for presurized fuel.that will bleed your systyme

Thank you! Any chance you have a picture of this? I looked for the valve religiously yesterday and could not locate it.

There should be no need to bleed , just a few cycles of the key should purge the air out

  • bsmith943 Dec 01, 2010

I have done a few cycles...quite a few actually. The car wants to start but it won't. Do you know where the valve is located?

install a fuel pressure guage, my guess is you are loosing power to the pump

Bleeding breakes on 2004 ponyac grand am

You can try to bleed just front but I recommend bleeding all 4. by starting at R/Rear (farthest from Master cyl.) then L/Rear then R/Front then L/Front. Have someone pump them up with out car running and hold foot on pedal till you crack bleeder loose then tighten before they let up on pedal, check reservoir in m.c. each time so you don't run out of brake fluid .

Where is the bleed valve located on a 1998 pontiac grand prix 2.8 engine? The auto parts store has never heard of a bleed valve.

Was the thermostat changed? I would suggest replacing the thermostat refill the system with new coolant and purge the air out of the system.

I ran my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am out of gas and now won't start. Put 4 gallons of gas in it. Fuel pump turns on with key. Don't know where the filter is...

not the filter that iam sure off ,try bleeding the fuel rail where the injectors are is a valve on the end of the supply line ,it looks like a car tyre valve take the cap off and turn ignition on and push the end in with a matchstick and you will release any air then try it but it should self bleed but we all know that in theory and practise it doesnt all work

How many quarts of transmission fluid does it hold

You didn't state what size engine you have.
The 2.2 engine----- 6.9 qts.
The 2.3 engine-----7.4 qts.
The 2.4 is 7.4 qts.
The 3.1 is 7.4 qts.
The 3.4 is 6.9 qts.
These are the capacities for refilling after being drained.

spark plug gaps are very critical on computerised cars!! [some wont even start!]
distributor module may be breeaking down as temp rises they fail!
otherwise do compression check as it may have valve problems
also check plug leads & injectors aswell as the fuel pump pressure [ could bestarving for fuel]

2001 PONTIAC GRAND AM SE, WON'T CRANK,RAN MY GAS LOW

Sounds like air in fuel line. Purge fuel line. By "crank", do you mean engine spins but won't catch? Try starter fluid in intake.
