Fault with saab 9-3 aero

The window and light washer on my 54 plate saab 9-3 aero is not working and neither is the timed part of the wiper. The wiper baldes also do not return to their original horizontal position after use. I have checked the fuses and relays and all appear ok. i have noticed a slight click coming from what sounds like the glove box when i pull the wiper lever to try and activate the washer.

Hello I have a saab 9.3 SS 04 and had the same problem.

- intermittent wipe doesn't work, at all
- windscreen washers don't work, at all
- "normal" continuous, and fast wipe work, but the wipers
freeze in the middle of the windscreen if you let go of the
control stalk, rather than sweeping back to the resting position
- same "freeze" happens with the manual wipe (push down on the control stalk)

The weird thing is that, this morning, for about 10 minutes, it seemed to fix itself,
partially - the washers started working etc - but the intermittent wipe still didn't work. However not long after that it went back to the symptoms described above.
also if I unplugged my car battery for a minute the washers worked for several seconds but again same problem occurs.

Solution is to replace your wiper motor. its that "simple"
worked for me. The wiper motor has a lot of electronic stuff and seems to control the washer engine.
Good luck.

I have a 93 aero 2005 which has just developed exactly the same problem described (washer not working; intermittent wipe not working; wipers dont return to home position). I have just taken to Saab (West End Saab , Staples Corner London NW2) who charged me £59 for a diagnostic check & then told me I need a new "UEC" which -with labour- would be a little short of £700 ! I declined. This may help if you can afford to pay this sum, & save you the cost of a diagnostic check.

My 2003 Saab 9-5 Aero 4-cyl Turbo Won't start. However, I have power in car, lights windows and radio works. But it won't turn-over. It could be Starter or Starter Relay. I can't find out

Ok, those systems might still work because the not require as much energy as the starter. Check the Battery Voltage with a good Voltmeter. If below 12, there might be your problem!

Saab 93 06 wiper problem

If you look at the wiring loom it comes out of the bulkhead just below the wiper motor, here you will find that there are worn wires due to the wiper arm rubbing, these will have effect in short circuiting the system, reset with vehicle electrician.

Wipers work fine when on but when turned off they go down and them back up to 35 degrees and stay until the next time the are turned on...

its the setting at which they are set when they are off, you need to manually try to either move the wipers down at ignition, or take the asembley out and then refit 35 degrees in the direction you want it
