I HAVE A 2001 DAEWOO NUBIRA THAT RUNS FINE MOST THE TIME BUT OTHER TIMES IT LOSES POWER AND STALLS.SOMETIMES IT WILL CRANK RIGHT BACK AND STALL WHEN I PUT IN GEAR AND START TO GO.OTHER TIMES YOU HAVE TO LET IT SET FOR WHILE BUT THEN IT WILL CRANK AND RUN FINE. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR AND OTHER TIMES AFTER IVE DRIVEN A LONG DISTANCE. WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS FOR VERY TIRED OF SETTING ON SIDE OFF THE ROAD THANKS AND GOD BLESS

If I recall correctly there was a recall on the camshaft position sensor. In some cases it would melt.
MAKE: DAEWOO MODEL: NUBIRA YEAR: 2001 DEFECT SUMMARY:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR MAY MELT RESULTING IN A BURNING SMELL AND VISIBLE SMOKE, WHICH MAY SUBSEQUENTLY LEAD TO THE MELTING OF THE CAMSHAFT COVER AND THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WIRE HARNESS.
CONSEQUENCE SUMMARY:
THIS COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE AN UNDERHOOD FIRE.
CORRECTIVE SUMMARY:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSORS AND INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL FUSE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT DAEWOO AT 1-877-362-1234, OPTION 6, OR FIND A LOCAL DEALER THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE AT WWW.DAEWOOUS.COM.

Check for the cooling fans working or not,also the thermostat,it can be stuck,and the coolant level maybe dropping and getting air in the system.

sound like a blow head gasket :( check to see if there is water/coolant in the oil, look on dip stick.
see if there is oil floating on top of coolant in radiator. does it smoke a lot when it starts ?
