Yes, You should have paid about $50 each for new rotors , max, and about $100 for a complete brake job. Unless you have 4 wheel drive or something exotic, and your truck is fairly new, you could of had the rotors turned, for about $10 each if they needed it. ,,,,My wife went to a shop once for something and they told her that her brake pads were worn down to 3mm, and of course, most people will think, 3mm!!! Oh my, get them fixed, but she came home and told me what happened, and I said, 3mm, let's see, .120" , that is about half worn of a .250" brake pad, plenty of miles left there, they just wanted money, they make a lot of money on brake jobs.

What is the minimum brake roter thickness for

this is stamped on the rotor, however sometimes you can`t read it. you can talk to a machine shop to get the spec. maximum allowable to remove usually is .060" before its no good that's from new thickness.

1997 chevy suburban 4x4 1500, pro 6 in suspension lift, 33x12.5x15 tires/wheels. just replaced tires, and has bad wobble upon braking. also tuns hard to right.

you most likely have a worped roter. what is worping that roter is your right brake is working harder then your left. first try to blead your breaks at the back of the calliper see if that fixes it if not try removing your front callipers and cleaning all the dust and old greas out of them then put on a thin coat of hi temp greas and reinstall them remember to alway blead your breaks after taking them apart.

I feel a vibrating/pulsating feel in the whole truck when the brakes are applied. I have changed the front wheel bearings, rotors, brakes and calipers. Also had the rear calipers checked which were still...

Rear disk need turning, did you turn new roters when you replace them on the front I always did and found most new roters are not true. If it isn't a roter problem check front end parts for looseness such as idler arm

By my left front wheel I hear this grind noise. Initially i thought it was my brakes and roters. I got my roters fixed but held off on the brakes. I assume the good year would have mentioned to me my...

Well, it could be the flap still but that would indicate the problem is probably a strut. I wouldn't trust the good year place you took the vehicle to. If the previous repair didn't solve the problem you will most likely go back and they can charge you a second time for going in there. They most likely didn't even check the brakes. I took a vehicle in for that same problem once and they turned my rotors and I ended up going back and back and back to get them to repair the whole problem that was a caliper grabbing and locking up on. Turned out the real problem was the Master Cylinder not releasing the like it should have. Your problem could be a CV Joint, a Caliper sticking, or Bearings being a problem, although I would assume the bearings were at least checked when they did the rotors.

Was told by Les Scwabb when went in for tirefix that the rear brakes are completely gone, needs pads rotors and calipers, and shouldn't really drive it anywhere. Is this something u think I should trust?...

Hi!!

Same happened to me once. I went and bought pads for $35 and took rotors to PepBoys for resurfacing, it was 10 or 15 for both. If they can not be resurfaced they tell you right there and offer new ones for about $50 ea. The actual change of pads I did it myself. Saved over $500 from their estimate.

Get another brake shop's estimate, and have them check your front brakes also, you'll be surprised on the $$$ difference.

Good Luck

I replaced the pads on my 2005 Honda Accord. I had

ABS only senses if the wheel is spinning or not.
"Thumping sound" sounds like a bad problem. I've not had thumping sound from my front brakes ever.
I don't know how a caliper could cause thumping.
Is everything installed correctly and do the brakes stop the car??

Are my front brakes pads(disc) supposed to be flush and touching with the roters when the emergency brake is Not on?

Yes. Their is nothing to retract the pads from the roters. Their is no preasure on the pads so they will not wear, but get bumped slightly by the rotor(s) away from the rotor itself. They are all like that.
