Engine problems on 2001 Ford 150 supercrew with 243,00

I have a 2001 Ford 150 supercrew with 243,00 miles. Heater core has gone out has causing engine problems. I have been advised to replace the engine. My question is considering the mileage on my truck, should the transmission be replaced also?

If you plan on keeping this truck and can afford a trany then i would, if trany is orginal, wiyh 243,000 miles then theres not much life left in it. this way youll have a dependable truck with a rebuilt engine and trany.hope this is helpful,

We replaced the heater core in our 2001 f150 twice in the past year, the last time only two months ago. it has broke again. is there something else (a bigger problem) that is causing the heater core to...

it is either a faulty part or when the heater core was installed the core was not installed correctly..they may have not reinstalled the mounting brackets for the heater core..incorrect instalation will either cause the brackets to rub through the core or allow the core to vibrate an break

I have a 2001 F150 4x4 supercrew. I smell antifreeze inside the cab. Sometimes there is a fog-like white substance that comes in through the vents when the A/C is on. Now I've noticed antifreeze...

Most likely there is a coolant leak in the heater core or one of the connections. The smell and fog coming from the AC vents points to coolant inside the AC/Heater blower compartment. Look for the AC drain hose under the truck and see if the coolant is coming from that. If so, that a sure sign of a leak inside the AC/Heater. Probably the core. There is no other source of coolant in that area. Hard to think a year old core is leaking but something there is. Could be the connections to the core.

My heater blows cold all the time!? ford fiesta 1800 td..2001. could it be a fuse gone?...

If it was a fuse it wouldn't blow at all. Check coolant level. Change thermostat. If still not working possibly a heater core - symptoms of a bad heater core would be losing coolant, fogging of inner winshield with defroster on or wetness on passenger side floor.,

I need to replace the heater core in my 2001 for f

Have a look at this.

Lots of nice to know stuff on an otherwise all day heater core change. Pay attention to the notes on NEW o'ring sizes and what screws to keep together.

2001 F-150 Supercrew AC dash lights gone out

You have to remove the center dashboard bezzel out. Is held in place by pressure stubs only. After that, you remove the A/C control head. Look for a disconnected wire first. The tiny bulbs are located in the control's back. Feel free to email me for a diagram
