I have a W reg ford fiesta (2000) and my right wing mirror has been hit by a football, and has been snapped back. all the parts are still there, but it is hanging off. How do i reattach it or do i need to replace it entirely
You will need a new mirror assembly. Buy a used one at a salvage yard or ebay

on the inside of car remove plastic triangle then you will find 3 screws remove these and refit

yes it is better to remove the whole panel, the panel slides down over the top of the frame of the door. remove the clips on the door carefully though as when these clips get old they become fragile and snap quite easily.and then remove the secondary panel for the mirror.

Check at a breakers yard you may be able to find a suitable replacement with mirror intact for less than a new on can be had. Or check a glass shop to see if they can cut a replacement to the size you require.
