I think so i just talked to the dealer and they said you need to buy the subaru blades.... it's a total racket. I just bought two new bosch blades from napa and I have now way to put them on the tribeca. so now i have to return them and i'm going to buy a blade refill from subaru b/c the whole blades are 2x as much as the aftermarket replacements. If anybody knows of a way to get aftermarket blades on the tribeca please let me know!

If the wipers were jammed two things could have happened to the motor. The first possibility is that you striped one of the plastic gears, or the second more likely option is that the ball joint on the wiper has popped off. Try moving the wiper blades back and forth and listen for a sound like metal scraping or dragging which will mean its the ball joint. To fix it first take off the wiper motor and locate the joint still attached to the blades ( move the blades back and forth till you see it). Once you have found the joint tie some rope around the wiper joint arm and pop the joint back together. I had this happen once with a Subaru during a snow storm.

Windshield wiper linkage

This is a bit of an awkward one on that car, but you have to remove the wiper arms, then remove the retaining nuts on the spindles, the wiper motor and get to the inner wiper control arms. There's a chance that one of the nylon cups which connect the control/drive arms has popped off and simply needs to be reconnected.

2006 tribeca subaru b9 p0700 and p1844 code pops up when I plug in the diagnostics unit. what do they mean?

both codes are related.

code P0700 transmission control system

code P1844 transmission fluid pressure sensor.

most likely cause is a bad transmission fluid pressure sensor this sensor will set both codes. have someone with a scanner rad the info from the sensor it is most likely open or shorted...best guess replace the sensor.

I turn on my windshield wipers and i can hear the motor come on but the blades dont move

It is most likely one of two things
  1. The wipers have come loose on the shafts. Lift the plastic cover at the end of the wiper blade that attaches to the wiper transmission and turn the wipers on. If the shaft and/or nut is turning, then you can simplt tighten the nut to get them working.
  2. the arm from the motor has popped off. Remove the wiper arms by removing the nut mentioned above and pull up on the wiper slightly while LIGHTLY tapping on the shaft with a small hammer. (Be VERY careful not to damage the threads on the shaft.) Then remove the plastic cowl cover. You will then see the shaft that goes from the wiper motor to the wiper transmission assembly. If it is popped off, it can be popped back on again, but it probably will not stay. It is recommended that you replace the arm.

How do I remove the wiper blade from the rear windshield wiper of a Subaru Tribeca

I went to the dealer and they showed me how to do it. Just pull it back, I thought it would break off----but it doesn't. Pull it back and it snaps right off.
