The heater fan doesn't work on my 1996 Ford Taurus. I looked for a fan fuse in the fuse box but couldn't find one. Any suggestions?

Check to see if you have power at the heater fan. It should be right under your glove box. Find the plug in and unplug it use a test light to see if you have power. If there is power at the fan plug than you need a new blower motor. Check in the fuse box under the hood for a relay or fuse also.

SOURCE: My fan won't turn off (1996 Taurus). Which fuse # can I pull?

I have the same problem at this moment. A fuse can be removed to shut it off (under the hood, fifth 40 amp fuse from left) but they told me it will take a new "Intergrated Control Panel" -- $187 plus $65 in labor.

They said it with strange happiness -- obviously they can do very little work and charge me a lot.

I'm sure I'm getting shafted but have no other choice, as far as I know. It's that or sell it. It really upsets me because I just had the column replaced yesterday.

Of course they say there's no connection.

I'll never go there again: Just too expensive.

Heater fan does not get power.

There are two fuses for the blower. One for the relay coil and the other for the relay power. One is a 5a in the interior fuse box. The other is a 40a in the engine compartment fuse box.

What fuse runs the heater fan

The blowermotor fuse is located in the under the hood fuse box, its in slot # 12. this fuse is an orange fuse and is 40amp fuse, the most common problem with the blower not working is the blowermotor resisitor, so if the fuse is good try replacing the resistor this resisitor is loccated on the heaterbox next to blowermotor. hope this helps.

Dome light and fan runs continuously

It sound like you may have a stuck relay. When you say fan do you mean heater fan or radiator fan? There is a electrical box under the hood that has fuses and relays in it, if you have the owners manual it will tell which relay does what. There is also a fuse panel under dash on that car, I'm pretty sure.

Radiator cooling fan fuse location for Ford Taurus

The cooling fan on a ford car usually does not have a fuse. The cooling fans are controlled by a relay in the power distribution box inside the engine compartment. The box is usually located near the battery. Your owners manual should have a guide showing you what each relay in the box is for.

My fan won't turn off (1996 Taurus). Which fuse # can I pull?

There is a second fuse box under the hood as well as the one on the driver's side under the dash. The one under the hood contained the fuse I was looking for.

2000 Ford Taurus-- Heater not working.

what you need to do is check that your relays are OK
in some cars you cannot see through the relay like a fuse
the only way to check if it is the relays is by replacing them
if this dose not work and you have a electronic climate control system your controm box may be burnt out this will need replacing
