Fllow you exhaust pipe. These will have a small wire harness connected. You should have 1 on the manifold, 1 downstream before convertor. Easy to change

See a visual diagram of heat oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 for ford taurus 2001

bank 1 exhaust is the rear manifold towards the windshield side. Follow the exhaust down. There should be one oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter and a monitor after the catalytic converter. Be Careful.. they look the same.

There is a failure in the circuit of the heated oxygen sensor-bank 1 sensor 2. I don't know how to check the fuse since I don't know where it is located.

If you're getting a code for a heated oxygen sensor circuit problem, replace the sensor. I don't think I've ever seen a fuse be the problem. Bank 1 is located at the back of the engine compartment, close to the firewall. Sensor 2 is the sensor after the catalytic converter.

Engine light shows catalytic converter is at fault. How do I know which one, if there are more than one? How can I get a diagram of the exhaust system?

I believe that there is only one catalytic converter.
Don't be in a hurry to replace the catalyst. On an OBD II system, the computer will often throw a code for low catalyst efficiency when the oxygen sensors get old and slow to respond.
How old are your oxygen sensors? If they have over 100k miles on them, I would start there. Don't believe someone who throws a digital voltmeter on the oxygen sensor and pronounces it to be 'good'. A voltmeter will tell you if the oxygen sensor is dead, but it won't tell you if it is slow-responding, which often happens on 100k+ mile sensors.
