I have a 2001 ford expedition 5.4ltr and the heat doesn't get warm like it is supposed to

First, check to see that both heater hoses are getting warm the same amount If yes, air blend door may be not operating correctly due to vacuum leak or bad actuator. Failling check valve near vacuum reservior can do this too.

The heater gives a little heat but, not hot air. F-150 4x4 4.6 L engine After warm-up the heater puts out a little warmth but, that is it. It will not get hot like normal during daily operation. I have...

Flushing the system and adding new antifreeze would have been my first suggestion, so, thanks for mentioning that.

We should check a couple of other things.

1. Start the engine, let it run for 6 to 8 minutes, ( with the heater off ), to allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature. Then, turn your heat and fan wide open, then listen to the engine to see if you hear a click, you should be able to hear the thermostat open up to circulate the coolant. If you do not hear a click, you may have a stuck, or partially stuck thermostat.

If the thermostat doesn't open, the hot water/coolant will not flow in to the heater core.

2. In the back of the engine, on the fire wall, locate the inlet and outlet hoses to the heater core. They are both usually about 1 inch in diameter. Carefully feel each hose. Both should be hot. If only one is hot it's because you have blockage somewhere preventing the circulation of coolant to the heater core.

The most common area for blockage is in the heater core itself. Sometimes flushing doesn't clear it out.

I hope this will help you resolve the problem.

83 ford ranger no heat ,new heater core, thermostat, blower motor, runs at normal temps, noticed one heater hose very hot yet the other one which is ran into a metal line going to the engine or ekg valve is...

it sounds like you have a air blockage, or the cooling system needs flushed. to flush system go to ( autorepair.about.com/od/regularmaintenance/ss/coolant_f...) click on 3rd one down. remember to bleed air out of system, this works the best. turn heater and blower on high, start adding coolant. start car let it idle till radiator thermostat opens. when top radiator hose gets hot you should have heat. some vehicles have a bleeder to let air from system. when filling putting coolant in system. if it does, then open bleeder while engine running and putting in coolant untill there are no air bubbles coming out. have a good day !! when doing flush if need be. you can go to any auto parts store and buy radiator flush. follow directions on the back ( prestone is best )

Engine temp is up but the heat is blowing cold. what should i check?

Check the level of the antifreeze (coolant) in your reservoir. If it is just a little low, it will not flow properly through the heater core.

If the coolant level is ok, check the temperature of the hoses going in and out of the heater core. Your Taurus is not equipped with a heater control valve, so there should be hot coolant circulating through the heater core at all times. If one hose is really hot and the other feels cool or cold, then your heater core is most likely clogged with corrosion and debris. (If this is the case, I recommend a complete cooling system flush)

If both hoses are hot, then there is a problem with the blend-air door inside the car. It could be a broken door or a malfunctioning blend-air door actuator.

No heat is there a fuse 2003 f250 is there a fuse for heater

i don't know realy if there is a fuse (though i doubt it) but issues with heatting may be this will help.

If the carpet under the heater core is damp, or if antifreeze vapor or steam is coming through the vents, the heater core is leaking.
Remove it and install a new unit (most radiator shops will not repair a leaking heater core.
If the air coming out of the heater vents isn't hot, the problem could stem from any of the following causes:
  • The thermostat is stuck open, previnting the engine coolant from warming enough to carry heat to the heater core. Replace the thermostat.
  • There is a blockage in the system, Preventing the flow of coolant through heater core. Feel both heater hoses the firewall. They should be hot.if one of them is cold, there is an obstruction in one of the hoses or in the heater core,or the heater control valve is shut. Detach the hoses and back flush the heater core with a water hose. If the heater core is clear but circulation is impeded, remove the two hoses and flush them out with a water hose.
  • If flushing fails to remove the blockage from the heater core, the coremust replaced.

My heater isnt working. I've replaced the radiator the water pump checked the heater core and flushed the system and it still doesnt work. Where is the heater door actuator located? and also I heard the...

The heater guard actuator is located under the Dash area. It sounds as if you covered most all of the issues regarding system procedure... It could be as simple as one of the vacuum lines have come undone or the cable has slipped .

NO HEAT ON 2000 FORD TARAUS

there is a valve on one of the heater hoses that is run by vacuum if it don't work hot water will not enter the heater core. If it does work maybe the heater core is just plugged up.A quick fix for that is swapping the heater hose's I know one is bigger than the other but if you can it will change flow direction and it will flush the core. It should work after that. Heaters aren't controlled by the cars computer they may be controlled by the controller but thats cars with climate control
