Does it do this cold, like within a minute of starting, or does it do it hot after it has run for 10 minutes or so, is the radiator fan working when the a/c is on. If it does is the air coming through the radiator HOT. These are known for head problems.if you crank it up cold and it starts pushing coolant out after 1 minute you have head problems.

Heater not blowing hot air

air in the system. or dirty blocked radiator and heater cores. put a radiator flush in it. run it for 20 miles then drain it. refill with 50/50 mix of antifreeze .now bleed it. this is done by turn your heater on full.with the expansion bottle cap off .run the engine till water getting hot . with finger and thumb push in the hose to push air out of the radiator hose into the expansion bottle .then refit the cap.

2005 nissan sentra 1.8 se has cold air blowing from inside vents with temp select switch set on the HOT position. What could be the cause of this problem?

Sounds like the heater - ac door actuator is not working. This part would need to be replaced, it's not repairable.

Runs hot after i put antifreeze in it

more than likely you have air in the system,,,make sure you take the bleed valve fitting out of the expansion tank feeder line..crank the car up and turn the ac on wide open.you should see bubbles flowing from the removed expansion feed bleeder screw. When the bubbles stop place the bleeder screw back into the housing.Let me know.

1995 toyota 4runner where do you put antifreeze in the radiator or the expansion tank

If coolant mix below 50% and room in tank for antifreeze, pour neat antifreeze in tank.

Run for a while and check antifreeze strength. Parts stores sell a little eye dropper with plastic colored beads to test coolant.

Coolingsystem. exspansion tank leakage. maybe the

you said " till the water dissapears" , I am hoping that you are not running just strait water in the cooling system. Especially in a hot climate.
You must have antifreeze/coolant for the system to work properly. It will dramatically raise the boiling tempreture. If you run strait water , as soon as the engine reaches 100 c the water boils , and the pressure of the steam could burst a hose , or an expansion bottle. If your expansion bottle keeps failing , I would look at it as the effect of the problem , not the cause of the problem.

Runs hot and hearter not blowing hot air

a heater uses the temperature of the cars water, running threw a heat exchanger if the heater core has failed water will not circulate threw the engine properly this will and can cause over heating as well as nothing blowing from the heater. good luck.heater cores are generally inexpensive parts to replace.

last thing you can check if heater core is ok. is the thermostat.

Want to know if this sounds like head or head gasket problem

make sure you have 50 percent water and 50 percent antifreeze.hot wire fan to see if work.if not replace it.if works check fan relay.if car stills over heat check top radiator hose .should get warm in 10 minutes.if not replace thermostat. if a lot of white smoke come out of exhaust.after car warms up .suspect blowed head gasket.

1996 ford contour gets hot , no hot heater or temp guage movement

Is your temperature gauge working now? That is of more concern then your heater as you wouldnt know if your engine was overheating until its too late. Your heater core could be clogged, they get clogged quite easily. You can flush them or replace. The part is inexpensive but on some models you have to take out dash to replace them, but on other models it only takes about 30 mins and a few bolts.

Dodge stratus R/T 2002 antifreeze problem(antifreeze coming out the cap)

First the "service engine soon" light is a manufacturer installed reminder for you to get an oil change or other pre-determined maintenance service done. It is different than the "check engine" light which indicates a sensor malfunction. Secondly, when the engine is cold the thermostat is closed and the antifreeze or coolant is not circulating. The cooling system is a closed system and the tank that the cap is on is not an overflow tank but rather an expansion tank. This tank allows for the expanding coolant that is now hot to leave the engine coolant jackets, that won't expand, into a tank that can expand slightly. When your engine got to normal operating temp., aka.. hot, the thermostat opened allowing coolant to circulate and fill the expansion tank probably over flowing with the cap off. This is a normal operation for your car.
