Hi Renee, Mic here. Have someone check your sensors and relays.... Have you ran codes on it? If so, what are they? I think the sensors would be the first area I would look into.

Hope all goes well.

If the break lights in my 1986 c corvette works but the tail lights do not, what could be the cause

Blown fuse ,bad headlight switch,or wiring issue.
the tail lights have there own fuse and are powered through headlight switch. Do the front running lights come on? If none of them work, switch could be bad if front work and rears dont, check bulbs and power to them when lights are on

how about the switch of the bottom of the brake pedal ck there , might be a bad ground wire jump it out with one and see what happens , see if you are getting power to the red wire while the pedal is depressed in the back , if so your light sockest could be bad , but highly unlikly

2005 lexus gs 300 stuck in park

could be the fuse for the brake lights if its blown you will not be able to get the transmission out of park its a safety precaution built into the car so your not driving with out brake lights check all your bulbs in the tail lights and turn signals look for water in the tail/signal light this will cause the blown fuse and the bulb will be broken and the glass will be discolored with white smoked tint to it this comes from the bulb exploding from +/- touching each other blowing the fuse, another thing to check would be your brake light switch if you change the fuse and step on the pedal and if the fuse blows and the same thing happens that's the problem LATER MAN!

My 89 nissan d21 brakelights went out and when i push down the pedal my dash lights come on

Hi, if you didnt fix it yet I'll tell you what could cause the dash lights to come on while pressing on the brake pedal, and that is checking the bulbs AND putting the wrong one in the wrong hole, IE putting the back-up bulb in a brake/parking light socket . The single lead on the center of the back-up bulb shorts the double contacts on the brake/park light socket so the electricity just flows through the one tip of the bulb connecting the two contacts in the socket since the park and dash lights are on the same circuit the dash lights will be energized, hope that makes sense as it happened to me with a 66 mustang. Good luck!!

Brake lights

Check brake light switch, generally a misadjust could cause this; this device is located on top, back side of the brake pedal.

Both brake lights went out at the same time i changed the bulbs but the brake lights still wont light up when i depress the brakes but my rear lights still work

ok so what your saying is that the tail lights still work but no brake lights work, you've replaced the bulbs, next step is to check the fuse for the brake lights, if its bad just replace it, if its good, you need to check the brake light switch thats located at the top of the brake pedal arm, ( up under the dash where the brake arm attaches to the mount, you will see a switch,,, sometimes they just get stuck, so depress the brake and see if the switch is moving at all, if not, remove the switch and replace it as long as the adjustment looked to be correct.

Tail lights do not work. Bulbs are good. Both fuses are good(separate cicuits). What else could it be? Is there a relay involved? Could the switch be defective? thanks! Mike

All the exterior lights run threw the turn signal switch. Except the high mount brake light. If you are talking about brake lights replace the TS switch. Parking lights are a little different. If you have no parking lights front and back, TS switch. If you have front and no back, ground problem. Grounds for the back are usually on the drivers side mounted to the frame.

Replaced tail light fuse, which turned on tail

most likely you have a short in one of the bulb connectors or the hot wire from them is pinched on medal somewhere. Or you have water intrusion shorting one out. Inspect the bulbs. Leave both bulbs out. install fuse. Press brake pedal several times and hold. Inspect fuse. if its blown its the pedal switch that's bad or a pinched wire from there. If good put one bulb in. Test again,, then the next bulb. If you see something obvious fix it.

1992 Honda Accord LX Brake Light Switch Repair

Of course you can make this repair! I'm wondering about the faulty bulb that shorted out all the brake lights...not sure if that's what happened. Your brake light switch is located on the brake pedal, up above where your foot goes. It has a plug in connector which you unplug, then loosen the locknut where it attaches to the pedal.Put in the new switch, lock nut 1st, then plug it in. Note that the locknut is the adjustment point that determines when your brake lights go on. Adjust the locknut so that the brake lights go on when the pedal is depressed within 1/2 an inch (13mm)of pushing down on it. If the switch is adjusted without enough play (say 1/8 inch or less), brake lights may flicker on and off when you go over a bump.If over 1/2 inch, brake lights might go on only if great force on pedal is used (or not at all, yikes!).For good diagrams of parts check out South Bay Honda (hondapartscheap)web site. You enter the year, model, engine, and you can scroll thru tons of parts. If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to post it for me. countrycurt0
